About
Located along the shores of Choctawhatchee Bay, Shalimar Pointe Golf Club enjoys a scenic, rolling landscape dotted with trees. This often-overlooked golf course has been considered one of the Emerald Coast's best-kept secrets but the word is beginning to get out. The course, due to its challenging but playable nature, has been used for U.S. Open qualifiers and it was host to the Emerald Coast Tour. The layout features immaculately manicured greens that are framed by strategic bunkering and water hazards on a number of holes. The golf course is challenging but fair with five sets of tees to accommodate players of all skill levels. The course is Shalimar Pointe's main attraction but it is complemented by extensive practice facilities including an expansive driving range, putting green and chipping green.

Golfer Reviews
You get what you pay for
Tee boxes were okay, some better than the others. Same with the greens. The fairways were in fair condition and not much cushion under the ball. Sand traps were not well tended. Some were hard mud. The course was not too busy so we could play at our pace without much concern
Disappointing but friendly
It is a 2 star simply because many of the greens are not well kept as well as some Tee off areas and fairways. The staff is great and everyone there are good people. The price was too high for the course conditions in my opinion.
Course is in great shape!
Playing with good friends and I had a great time by the time we got to the second side it was getting so muggy we can hardly stand it was still were able to have a good time just soaking wet from the humidity nothing to do with the chorus just the weather in the area.
Good play for the money
Told it was tight but I didn’t think so. Playable. Doesn’t kill you for an errant shot. Some bare spots on the greens. Several jumps in the middle of the tee boxes. Some decent elevation changes for being so close to the bay
Personal Best
I usually only get to golf while on vacation a couple of times per year. I shot a personal best on this course. Lots of sand and some challenging water but the layout was forgiving enough to enjoy a little left or right if needed. The greens were spectacular and mostly consistent even up to 3pm at 90 degrees. They were also pleasantly challenging with some curved hills but allowing you options to putt uphill often. Some of the distances and pin placements seemed to not follow the chart but it was pretty easy to adjust. That would really be my only complaint.
Circles
I swear the path takes you in infinite circles and through suburbs.. looking for a little nicer of a course when I visit Florida.. 25 a round is about what this course is worth.. Its playable.. it's not trash.. just not what I was gunning for on short notice.
Golf
The greens were sand, the course was aerated it was difficult to play under those conditions.
Could be an amazing course
This course has so much potential. But the greens are absolutely terrible. Such a disappointment because this could be one of the really good courses in this area if only they did something about the greens
GREAT Course in TERRIBLE Shape
The course is a fantastic layout but is in DIRE need of complete aeration, overseeing, and water! This place would be the hands-down best track around if a whole bunch of TLC were added.
PROs: Great course layout. Friendly Staff.
CONs: Terrible greens, hard and barren fairways, and bald spots everywhere. No cart service available either.
OVERALL: Do NOT come to play here unless you want to practice your ball-striking on the course! If that’s what you plan on doing, by all means come out, but you’re going to pay too much! It’s a darn shame! I hope this course gets new life bc it’s a fantastic layout that only needs some professional attention!!
Terrible
The greens were absolutely atrocious. Almost unplayable. More that 50% of each green was just dirt. The course is in terrible shape. Fairways were awful as well, felt like my ball was always in some sandy area. DO NOT PLAY HERE. IF YOU DO AND DONT LIKE IT, DONT SAY I DIDNT WARN YOU
Same as always
The driving range was only available to members so we couldn’t warm up. (Always makes for a fun day hitting cold off of 1) not much fairway grass and the greens were atrocious. The few that had grass were unevenly mowed. The t boxes were in decent conditions. I quickly remember why we said we’d never come back...
Shalimar Pt.
The course was challenging for me.
Having not played it before made it a lot harder.
We enjoyed our round we were not held up by any slow players.
Our only complaint would be the greens need a lot of care. They were in pretty rough shape compared to the other courses in the area.
Corona time
Course was just as I remember it, greens lacked a little, I guess due to reseeding/maintenance during sore period? Overall it was great.
