About
Located along the shores of Choctawhatchee Bay, Shalimar Pointe Golf Club enjoys a scenic, rolling landscape dotted with trees. This often-overlooked golf course has been considered one of the Emerald Coast's best-kept secrets but the word is beginning to get out. The course, due to its challenging but playable nature, has been used for U.S. Open qualifiers and it was host to the Emerald Coast Tour. The layout features immaculately manicured greens that are framed by strategic bunkering and water hazards on a number of holes. The golf course is challenging but fair with five sets of tees to accommodate players of all skill levels. The course is Shalimar Pointe's main attraction but it is complemented by extensive practice facilities including an expansive driving range, putting green and chipping green.

Fun, challenging layout!
Fun track and in very good condition as long as you stay in the fairway and avoid the outlying rough areas! If you can keep it below the pin On the greens, otherwise you’ll probably end up three putting! Bunkers are in good shape and the driving range is included, which is nice. Definitely worth the money.
Fall on the Gulf
Excellent condition. Greens are putting quite fast in the last 2 weeks. Fairways are green and plush, but stay out of the rough, you may lose a ball, like I did on hole 2. LOL
Bring your A game!
Excellent layout, greens are a little difficult to read, but roll well, bunkers are Primo. Stay out of the Rough!!! If you have a solid game, you will do well, but the course will beat you! When you play it, you’ll know what I mean. Love it!🏌🏻♂️
Fun course! One of my favorites is the area.
I really enjoy the course. Thick rough, plenty of water and hazards. The course is well designed and fun to play. Even though the greens and fairways could be a little better they are never in bad condition.
Stay in the fairway
Enjoyed the course. Teed off at 8:00 an , had no one in front of me, played in 3 hours. Greens were in good shape. BUT stay in the fairway, if you go off the ball will disappear.
Good deal for the $
For the price the course is just fine. Just be careful if you miss the fairway, balls disappear in the rough.
Warm in Florida
The weather is still hot but may be cooling down slightly after this next hurricane moves by. Greens were much faster than the previous week. The fairways are beautiful, except for the rough, its thick and hard to find your ball.
I first played Shalimar about 15 years ago. It was a nice course then. I believe you have made it a much better course than it was then.
Early Fall
With the recent rains in the past week, the course is shaping up. The greens were putting slightly slower than normal. The rough is thick in areas, it's easy to lose your ball or takes a few minutes to find your ball. All in all, its in excellent condition.
Just ok
Some holes had a nice layout, but...
Fairways...so so
Roughs... pretty bad. Some look like they haven't been cut for 2 months.
Greens... Needed to be cut and rolled. Plus, a number of bad spots
Surprisingly Good Golf Course
All in All this is a "MUST PLAY" golf course! I am ready to play it again now that I know where to be and not to be...IF the course super would JUST CUT THE ROUGH to atleast allow the player to simply FIND their ball would be THE ONLY bad comment I have for Shalimar Pointe! The rough is higher than ANY course I have ever played, it UNPLAYABLE GUYS! I play on the VGA Tour and can tell you, I've NEVER seen rough this deep.IF the rough was playable, this would be THE "go to course to play! The staff are extremely friendly and accomadating, 10 STARS for everything at Shalimar Pointe EXCEPT THE ROUGH!!
Good friendly staff. The rough areas are Apache with poor growth. Balls are sometimes hard to find because of the type of grass utilize. Overall if you hit consistent on the fairways it's a decent course for the price.
Hot Labor Day round
We played late afternoon on labor day
We had to start on 10 due to an extremely loud obnoxious 5 some in front of us
We waited 20 mins and they still weren’t out of range
The temperature was very hot but the course is in good shape
My only complaint is that there are several areas just off the fairway that the grass was mowed and made finding a ball difficult at best
Very frustrating to hit a decent shot and can’t find the ball because it wasn’t mowed
Lastly I caught a good price but not worth regular prices
I’d play here more if the made their prices more similar to local area not Destin
