Great Course
Tot Hill Farm is a joy to play. The layout is different and fun.. The only issue is that the greens are not in great shape. Bent grass greens during a NC is not a good combination. The rest of the course is well conditioned.
Bad bad bad greens
I've played this course about 8 times each time hoping that it's gonna get better it never does. To charge $70 for greens that are half as good as a fresh cow pasture is unbelievable. The place needs to shut down and change them. Obviously the grass thats in their cant work. If can see that why cant somebody that takes care of the golf course see that. Its sad. If they fixed the greens I would have no problem with pricing. Just fix the greens already!!!!
Needs some work
Layout and fairways were great. Greens were horrible. Inconsistent, lots of dirt and mud spots, and didn’t feel like they were improving. Hope they get the greens figured out, because I really love this course otherwise.
Awesome Track - mediocre conditions
This is a great Mike Strantz track So fun So crazy and always worth the trek if the greens are in good shape. Unfortunately that is not always the case
Fairways are good and tee boxes are hit and miss but the greens were not great again. The 90+ degree heat had been hitting early this year Hopefully they put in champion or mini verde Bermuda greens one day and make this the bucket list course it could be
Absolutely beautiful course
My friend and I are complete beginners at golf, we might have a dozen games between the two of us. This course was the most beautiful course I’ve seen in North Carolina for sure. It was also really difficult for beginners, but it didn’t take away from how fun it was. The greens are the only thing that I didn’t particularly enjoy because there are little divots in them that are there on purpose (I’m a complete rookie so I don’t know if they’re there to help or hurt or if it’s to help grow more grass or anything, I just didn’t like them for my putting) and the greens on some holes are huge. I was having to make 40-60 yard putts on some of them because I didn’t want to chip on the green and mess it up for everyone else. I would 100 percent recommend any beginners wanting to play this course to just do it, but do it on a less busy day so you can play at your own pace. It was a busy Friday when we went and we did fill a bit rushed but that had nothing to do with the course, just the fast players behind us and the slow players ahead of us.
My Favorite Course
Overall condition of course is much improved compared to. recent years. Fairways were fairly lush and bent grass greens were maybe as good as I’ve seen at Tot Hill.
Cart. Paths still. need work but getting better.
Still my favorite course in the whole world and best example of the genius of Mike Stranz.
Excellent experience if you hit where you aim
Thoroughly enjoyed the course and quickly realized you have to pick a target and hit it. Greens in very good condition; take time to read the grain. Will play again soon.
Drive you nuts
Fantastic for the money.
Friendly staff throughout the whole course.
Wild lay out. Lucky and unlucky bounces a plenty.
Just go enjoy and smile, if you don’t you will end up slevvering like a mad man.
Challenging and fun.
The staff and the course layout and the scenery are all phenomenal. However like many golf courses pace of play has become abysmal. Some courses are on eight or ten minute tee time intervals but Tot Hill has a12 minute interval. This was a good move for them because of the difficult layout and this is a destination course unfortunately the extra tee time intervals still does not help. Many of the greens are in very poor condition. So pace-of-play and the greens in poor condition are the primary reasons for my rating as an average course. And there is no excuse for some of the root heaves and asphalt ramps on the cart paths. Maintain the greens properly, fix the cart paths and enforce a 4 Hour 15 minute maximum time and this is a 5-star course.
Margaret’s Review
Tough course. Beautiful views. Lots of elevation changes. Loved it. Will play it again.
The views are amazing! Super hard course for an average golfer. Half the greens had dead spots all over and several tee boxes were just dirt. Deff not worth 60 $
Must Visit Golf Destination
Loved the course layout, and every aspect of this facility. Highly recommend.
Green complexes on some of the more difficult holes are way too penal for the average player. I will not be back to get beat up on a tough Billy goat golf course. This course designer should have realized that to attract repeat business you need to make it playable for the average golfer. Otherwise very much above average for scenic views.
Need Superintendent attention
Some of the greens was in sub pair condition for the price value. Over several the years I've enjoyed the opportunity to play the Signature Stand Design. I believe it's time for a face lift.
