1936 original layout of the Capital City Country Club. Notice the old clubhouse and how the holes were numbered originally. Photo submitted by JayRevell on 09/12/2018

aerated greens give it time
Difficult to judge the course with freshly punched and sanded greens, but it is picturesque.
Facility is dated. (Yes, it is an old country club- but one trip to the men's room and you'll understand what I mean)
There is nice seating outside on patio overlooking first tee and putting green. Beverage cart was right on time with cold drinks on a hot day.
Great course
Course is good shape but expect it to be better soon. new sprinkler system being installed and we had to pick up on one green. Fairways ok but greens were in good shape and challenging.
They want you here and it shows
Great staff. Great course with a lot elevation changes. Doglegs are natural and not forced. I will be back
Hilly terrain is a nice change of pace
It's a fun and challenging course. Lots of ups and downs. Greens were in decent shape. It calls for several nearly blind shots due to the slope and bend on certain holes.
Nice layout
Just needs a snack bar. Course was awesome and in great shape. I will definitely go back
Very nice and challenging course.
This course was very well kept and challenging located right in the center of Tallahassee.
A REAL GEM IN DOWNTOWN TALLAHASSEE !
Winter conditions caused less than perfect conditions. Greens were acceptable but are probably better after spring growth, which I comming soon. Fantastic design and layout! Could not tell you were near the Capital in downtown. A must play!
club up
First don't let the walkers scare your pace of play they play fast. Second and probably should be first CLUB UP!!!!!!!! The holes are elevated from tee to green. Beware of pat three on back tee box elevated and green is too, just watch you will see. Fun course great staff and reasonable price have fun and don't forget CLUB UP!!!!!!
Best course in town.
Best course inside city limits. Large challenging greens. Feels like you're in the north Georgia mountains. Love to play this course.
You forget you are playing just a few miles from the Capital with this hidden gem in Tallahassee
This course is fantastic! Great north Florida wildlife and scenery just minutes away from downtown Tallahassee. One one hole you can actually see the Capital in the background. A few houses line some of the holes but none are close enough to get hit. There were lots of trees lining the holes but not thick enough to hinder you looking for lost balls.
Greens were just fantastic looking! Fairways were a little better than average and the tee boxes were great! There is a bathroom on the course that you will hit twice while playing. Some nice elevation changes on the holes....nothing terribly difficult other than hitting blind over some hills. A few par three's were a blast to play because of the elevation changes. Not too many water holes at all so don't have to worry!
Staff was very nice and polite. I saw the cart girl multiple times throughout the course and when we were on the 16th someone from the course came and gave us fresh baked cookies for free!
You will love this course if you have never tried it. Will definitely be coming back!
Tallahassee golf escape, in Downtown.
Quite simply a golf escape in the middle of Tallahassee. Capital City CC offers players a true N. Florida/ S. Georgia landscape and 2 holes in, you will forget the state capitol is 1 mile away.
The course has a wonderful layout that is a joy to play. It can be a little tight if your drive is unpredictable, but both a draw and fade play if they are consistent.
The bunkers are well cared for often right in front of the greens. Putting is not as difficult as it appears. The breaks are minimal, but a few two level greens offer some variety. The one negative is the greens are rarely fast. They are smooth, just not fast.
I am a bogey golfer and enjoy this course. The others in my group at 4-6 handicaps and found to course to be a great time as well.
Tallahassee's best overall golf course.
Played on a 96*F day. The course couldn't have been in any better shape. The turf was properly cut, bunkers raked and sanded, greens free of leaves/debris, all elements of greenskeeping were near perfection.
Staff met us in the parking lot to assist with bags and cart, provided ice, and informed of of maintenance activities. 5-star service all the way. Saw the vending cart 3 times during play.
This course is located less than a mile away from the capital building in the heart of Tallahassee. It is secluded and home to wildlife ( saw 2 deer on #3 ).
A north Florida must play course.
Tallahassee's Best Golf Course.
Capital City is the premier golf course in Tallahassee. It is a full service course; you will want for nothing. Cart brought to your vehicle as you arrive. You will see the vending girl multiple times as you round the course. The grounds crew keep the course in top shape. Layout offers challenging holes with severe elevation changes and easy scoring par 3's. A great mix for beginning golfers and experienced scratch golfers. If you can get a tee time; I highly recommend this course to both visitors and locals.
Felt honored to play this great layout.
This is an old school layout of the classic variety that is in fantastic shape. The greens are phenomenal, and they have them rolling pretty fast. Very narrow course that will require you to hit it straight. Lots of holes that play left to right, so this favors a right handed player who fades the ball. Lots of holes where elevation comes into play both up and down. I just felt honored to be able to play this course as a guest. I am so glad that CCCC allows this for poor folks like me who love golf. Can't beat this deal!
Pretty course
Enjoyed playing this beautiful course tucked into the middle of downtown.
Excellent Value and course.
Course was in great shape. Challenging enough without being over the top. Beautiful layout. My only complaint was the sprinklers came on for about 20 mins and it had just rained the night before. Slowed us down and made it difficult for a couple holes. Otherwise great value, would definitely play there again!
Fun course
Enjoyed the course! Not too hard.
Had great weather and course in good shape. Was a little wet!
Staff was great! Will play again.
The course has good features
The course was in great shape. The Greens had been punched the prior week, so they were a little slow but the fairways were in great shape. I would play the course at again.
Capital City C.C. Tallahassee, FL
Capital City is a semi-private course that just opened up for public play here within the last year or so. Old style course in the heart of downtown Tallahassee, small greens, a course with a lot of elevation changes for this area. Greens were in great shape even though our area has had quite a bit of rain this winter. The only problem with the course and really not the crews fault due to the amount of rain Tallahassee has received, is the erosional problem due to the rain. Quite a few washout areas and sand deposition. However a nice track to play and looking forward to playing again soon.
