Wonderful Day!
I have never played here before and was pleasantly surprised. The course was wonderful, definitely country club conditions. The greens were fast and fairways were in great shape. We even stayed for a nice dinner on the outdoor patio. All in all a fantastic day. We will definitely be back and will be looking into membership opportunities for next year.

Great course very well maintained. Just be careful you are opening tooo many tee slots to the public. I thought this course was private....

Great experience
First off, The staff is amazing and the course was in great condition. I was ready for the icy green... they play super fast. The only flaw is the layout, which does not make sense, such as laying up off the tee on a couple par 5s or a back to back par 3. But I would love to play it again knowing what I know about the course

Really enjoyed the round here
Greens in grid shape
Only issue is lack of signs to next hole that for first timers was a bit of an issue

Happy This Course Is Public/Private
Course is in wonderful shape. The greens are fast, consistent and hold shots as well. Rough is in good shape and fairways are fast and low. The driving range and practice facility is well maintained as well. The only draw back is length (short). The layout is mainly straight. But there are some holes that will surprise you with the use of fully mature trees. This is an old American style country club worthy of a play.
An added bonus is the best patio in McHenry and a top notch bar indoors.

Outstanding Course
Playing this course was a treat. The staff was very friendly upon arrival. The course layout gives you varying levels with hills and undulating, fast greens. The condition of the course was the best I have seen around Chicago this year. Kudos to the greenskeeper and those who work to keep the course in great shape.

Great conditions
Course in great shape.....classic old school layout.....fast greens.....some blind shots as there is alot of elevation changes for an Illinois course.....great test of golf.
