About
Frog Hollow Golf Club in Middletown boasts the title of "best public golf course" in Delaware. The course has a links-style layout that is challenging but still player-friendly enough to appeal to beginners, seniors, and juniors. The layout is wide open and quite forgiving but there are still plenty of hazards with which to contend. There are more than 50 strategically placed bunkers throughout the golf course. Their thoughtful placement makes up the bulk of the layout's challenges. There are ponds that come into play on six holes as well as tall native grasses that appear along the fairways and greens. The wind is often a factor on the course too and will test your accuracy even further. Frog Hollow Golf Club's par 3s and par 5s are manageable but the par 4s will test even the best players.

Great deal
First time playing this course - for the $ it was a great deal. Only criticism is that the Gold tee markers were not in place. We met another golfer who explained they aren't placed until April 1st. Course should consider another set of tees a bit shorter than the Gold as it is still quite long for senior golfers. Overall great value.

Ok layout, needs work, lots of hackers that don't look fix their damage
Frog hollow is a decent layout although a bit boring, nestled in what looks to have been a decent community at one point. The main issue I have with it is that it looks like they haven't done any fall/winter maintenance and drainage seems to be lacking. Twice my tee shots were 80% plugged into the turf, there are huge swaths of fairway divots that havent been smoothed or filled, only 1 tee box (whites) is currently marked and 2 of those are closed with artificial mats in their place. I didn't see any sign of maintenance or repair being performed on either the closed or currently open tee boxes nor to the fairways. The sand was actually pretty decent and consistent except for one bunker where the rake was missing and it clearly hadn't been manicured by a machine in a while. I get it that maintenance is expensive but use your golfers to help, encourage them to fill divots and repair ball marks. If your golfers see a lot of divots filled, they're more likely to fill their own. Encourage fixing 2 ball marks on every green instead of just your own.

Course shows improvement
It is apparent that they are working to improve Frog Hollow in several respects. The greens are is nice condition, especially for winter. They are working to improve the sand traps and have revamped many of them. Overall, the course is in very good condition. One criticism is that they need more senior and women’s tees.

$20 is $20
I enjoy playing here. The grass is probably my only complaint, even during the regular season. The food is good. Value for the money is excellent when you're paying $20 before season. I wouldn't rate it that high for normal fares (~$60).

Looking good for soring
Played this week with a painful foursome without golf etiquette
They had 4 groups backed up by the 5th hole
Jumped in front and got thru and saved two hours easy
Best part was seeing fresh sand piles in the traps
The crew is working hard to keep the course up
As always the staff was on target at the shop and starter
