Frog Hollow Golf Club
About
Frog Hollow Golf Club in Middletown boasts the title of "best public golf course" in Delaware. The course has a links-style layout that is challenging but still player-friendly enough to appeal to beginners, seniors, and juniors. The layout is wide open and quite forgiving but there are still plenty of hazards with which to contend. There are more than 50 strategically placed bunkers throughout the golf course. Their thoughtful placement makes up the bulk of the layout's challenges. There are ponds that come into play on six holes as well as tall native grasses that appear along the fairways and greens. The wind is often a factor on the course too and will test your accuracy even further. Frog Hollow Golf Club's par 3s and par 5s are manageable but the par 4s will test even the best players.

FROG HOLLOW 8-23-2022
Well weather was good, but NO 90*, that make it difficult to locate your ball, as they have large hills running along side of fairways.
I would say that the Fairways were in GREAT Condition.
Greens were veri-cut, but we excellent condition.
Sand Bunkers were Awful, no playing in them, rocks and weeds.
Tee Boxes were good to poor.
Overall I would play it again.
Czr paths only
Long day track was wet greens ok they rolled true. Car paths only sucks over all it was a long day had a good time will play again.
Not reasonable or helpful
I only got through 2 holes before the the sky opened up and it started rain so hard you could barely see. I went back to the clubhouse and asked for a rain check and was refused because it was twilight. Staff did not offer any help at all.
Always a pleasure
We enjoy playing at Frog Hollow whenever we get a chance. The bunkers are in rough shape but we were forewarned as they will soon be re-worked. Some of the tee boxes could also use some work but fair otherwise. We like the l course layout and the staff is always very accommodating. The dollar value is also exceptional. One of our favorite Delaware courses.
Needs ranger
Teed off a little after noon. Didn't catch anyone until about 7th hole. Still moved pretty good. 1 hour for front nine. Whole different story on back. As a single I tried to find an opening, but this was like a slow moving freight train! Needless to say about 2 1/2 hours on the back. Course in pretty good shape. Just play the right tees. Very nice bar!
Very Nice Local Course
My foursome got a great deal on Teeoff.com for this course so we gave it a try. Very nice young man checked me in and informed me of the condition of the course. He was very friendly and knowledgeable. I was then greeted by the starter (Jordan) who was very courteous and let us know where we were in line to tee off.
We enjoyed the course very much, the only issue we saw was the sand traps needed a little work as there were stones in most of the fairway bunkers. The greens were in great shape and very fast (which we like).
Cart girls was very friendly and we saw her 3 times during our round. Then we stopped into the bar afterwards for lunch where we had great food, drink and service. I would highly recommend this course and we will be back.
Not bad for the buck
Nice track wide open fair ways not bad for 34 dollars on golf now. It was a 10 am tee time every where else was almost double.
If you hit it where you should , you'll be fine.
Navigate this championship 18 out in a rolling , with water , creeks, Links style course in Delaware.
Worth the trip.
Too bad COVID has jacked prices up on most courses in Delaware,New Jearsy, and Pennsylvania.
$$$$$$$
great value/layout but conditions not ideal
This was my second round here in the last month (drove an hour) and you can see the heat has had an effect on the course. Great value great layout but what is going on with the tee boxes? Every tee box looks like a par three tee box. Can you blame the greens-keeper when players are taking beaver tail divots on par 4s and 5s. What is going on? One divot on a par 5 i put my whole foot inside it, the guy/girl had to break their wrist! The ball is supposed to be on a tee right? #7 tee box had more sand down than grass, felt like i was teeing off out of a bunker.
Greens and fairways are is great shape for end of summer in MD. I would like to see some cart restrictions with fairway accessibility, too many areas where rough is basically dirt from cart tracks.
if you have never played i would make the trip. Yes the tee boxes are a mess but the rest of the course is nice and a good challenge.
FYI, the Back nine is a good 5-6 strokes more difficult than the front so don't get too excited after 9.
Nice Round
Found this course last minute and turned out to be. A good find.
Range spills over onto the first hole - slightly annoying with balls everywhere on the left.
Some rough spots in the fairways but given the dry weather they have done a good job keeping them green.
The greens were in good shape, rolled smoothly but a little slow. No amazing “wow” type holes but nice layout.
Not a good day
Checked in, talked to the stater, told me I was on the tee, went to the car, picked my gear, came back, and there’s another group teeing off. Player playing with us said sounded like they came off the back nine when one of the guys asked what did you get on the last hole. From the fourth hole on, almost a ten minute wait on each tee box for the rest of the round.Called into the pro shop on the 11th, said someone would be out, no one came, called again 2 holes later, different person, they someone be out, someone did come out, but just drove through. My quest the starter let friends, so I would be cautious when going there.

Ownership is Horrible
The Owner Pat was a pain when we showed up. Hackled my group on the tee box. Making comments after we hit our tee shot. Give my cart partner a hard time for no renewing his membership at a public course. Course conditions were bad. Ball marks all over the green. Sand traps full of rocks. Pace of play was horrible. Took almost 5 hours to play 18 with 3
Scratch golfers. Just a complete horrible round and course owner Pat shouldn’t be an owner of anything.

Course is nice, cant say the same for the owner…
I think that the course is nice and a good value, however while we were on the practice green, someone who we were told was the owner came up to us with a terrible attitude yelling at us to open our cooler in the back of the cart. I was so shocked by his attitude (confused and not knowing we had done anything wrong at the time) that I did react poorly and try to shy away from the truth, gathering from his tone that we weren’t supposed to bring our own drinks…
After returning our drinks to our car I went back to him and just mentioned that I thought he had reacted quite strongly and was being rude to guests of his course that he he should want to ensure are having a nice time at which point he yelled “If you don’t like how I run my course, leave… “ not a huge deal but it definitely left a sour taste in my mouth.
In the end, I was in the wrong (without knowing it at first) but I felt like he blew the situation out of proportion and treated us very poorly.

Nice golf course
Frog Hollow is a nice golf course, especially for the rate I paid on GolfNow. The greens are in pretty good shape and the overall layout is nice. If I had one complaint it would be the rough could be cut a little shorter, it hard to find your ball just off the fairways.
