White Horse Golf Club
About
White Horse Golf Club has one of the toughest courses in the Northwest. Situated on the Kitsap Peninsula, the course is located just five minutes south of the Kingston ferry terminal. The course sits on the Puget Sound between the Olympic and Cascade Mountains, offering panoramic views on every hole. When the Suquamish Tribe bought the club in 2010, one of their top priorities was to make the course more playable. They enlisted John Harbottle for the job, a local architect who has designed several layouts throughout the state. By taking out nearly half of the bunkers, he opened up the greens and made them more approachable. He also widened the fairways and made the landing areas more generous. Since the update, White Horse Golf Club has become one of the most popular on the peninsula.

Manicured fairways Photo submitted by Spencer3502694 on 06/17/2013
The course is challenging, fair and beautiful.
I really enjoyed the well maintained and relativley dry playability.
Greens and fairways were in great condition. Will enjoy more rounds here in the future.
nice choice of tees for every golfers sklill level
It rained all day, however for that price we played inm rain! Course drains well. Greens also shed water very well.
Tough conditions
Played last Sunday in pouring rain and wind. Scottish conditions I guess. All in all, I didn't see where the course has been improved or changed that much. The greens were recently punched and rough as heck but it has to be done sometime. Still a great value.
This course will make you think about your shots.
The easier they make this course, the higher my score get. I must not think enough.
Beautiful setting in the woods.
White Horse is a very challenging course. It should definitely be played from comfortable tees. Play from the back tees only if you are a very good low handicap golfer. Some fairways are narrow requiring straight drives. Plenty of bunkers and sloping greens make accuracy a must to score good. It has a beautiful setting winding through trees. Carts are suggested. Although there aren't an abundance of hills, there is plenty of distance between some greens and the next tee. Similar to Druid's Glen or Gold Mountain (Olympic).
great track-you will use every club
the course will win & you wont know why. it offers every kind of hole shapes and the greens are hard to read. Club-up !!
Scenic and challenging course.
We enjoyed this course, found it very challenging. Would definitely be returning to this course.
Hard is fun.
This course is a hidden jewel just a short ferry ride from Edmonds (or a long drive from Federal Way where we live). A good test of your golf prowess, on par with Trophy and GM/Olympic. Improvements since opening make the course more enjoyable, but you might have to play it a few times to score well. Staff is great and the new clubhouse coming in Spring of 2013 should help raise the profile of this sleeping beauty.
Excellent course with challenging holes and more enjoyable since renovation.
Liked the remodeled course and the capability of playing in less than three hours. Greens and turf much improved since my last trip during WA Sate Am.
A good course to play
With a little more work on the tee boxes and fairways this would be a great course.
Will be great when club house is complete
very challanging course, wooded area needs to be thined out on some holes, stay shots are very peniel & disrupt pace of play. Course is in great condition & will return when club house is complete having a after round beverage & lunch or dinner will make the experience much more enjoyable.
Unreasonably difficult course
Be prepared for an expensive Ferry ride and then a confusing search for the course if coming from the West side. However, if you can plan several days in advance the course will come and get you from the Ferry terminal so you can leave your car and walk on the Ferry. The Club House is under construction so there is quite a mess around the temporary club house which is in a trailer. The course itself is extremely challenging and is in decent shape. It has water, rough and sand bunker hazards on almost every hole. The elevated greens are extremely tough. Small and pin placement the day I played were at the very front edge of the green. If you are a casual golfer this is not the course to play. If you are a scratch golfer you will help increase your handicap dramatically. A good course to challenge the pros but too tough for us amateurs. Beautifull views and environment if you are not too frustrated to enjoy it.
Not worth the money it costs to play
I kniow the new clubhouse is being built and thast will improve the looks and what not. I just don't think a course like this should cost $80 plus dollars to play. The pace of play was not being monitored by the marshalls and we walked off with a few holes to play
