Heron Glen Golf Course

Perhaps the best condition public course I have seen in the area. Fairways were good and greens were better. I don't go there often but maybe I should. Some holes need to be seen and played to learn. Very tough finishing hole for sure and back nine par 5's are interesting.

Always a great round of golf at Heron Glen. One of my favorite places to play. Challenging and fun.

Had a 7:15 tee time, played with two buddies who have played here a few times this year and a local who was very knowledgeable of the course. Starter was very friendly and seemed to be well liked by the players. Conditions were excellent, from tee box to green (which I'd say rolled true and fast). It's nice to play a place where it looks like the players and staff keep up on ball marks and divots. Don't count on a memebers' bounce if your on the right side of the fairway/rough as every ball I saw dived hard right after the initial bounce. Every hole is unique to the others and enjoyable. Didn't land in bunkers too much but the couple shots our group did play had nice sand. Clubhouse is new this year and looks great, restaurant area looked nice as well. For value you can get better prices then the $81 I paid, check for hot deals. If I wasn't a cheap skate I would say it's a great value especially if you turn and play another 18 with their $20 replay rate.

Needless to say for how great this course was, I will definitely get back out here soon. Worth the drive to play a quality track like this one.

You won’t find a better public course. Place drained incredibly well after a deluge in the morning today. Staff did a great job getting things organized and us out in an orderly fashion. Really enjoy the layout of this course and can’t wait to play again soon. You won’t be disappointed with this gem of a course. Highly recommend.

One of the better public courses I've come across in the area. Staff is wonderful, course layout is great, and conditions are superb for the amount of play the course gets. I definitely recommend giving heron glen a try. You wont be disappointed

Traveled 1 hour+ from Jersey Shore, partly cloudy day, cool temperature. Got paired up with a regular to Heron Glen who gave me advice on each tee. We all had a nice day and good time. Staff was excellent. Will definitely ride up there again to play.

HG is always a nice course to play. But greens today were bumpy and slow. It looked like they were aerated not too long ago. The greens should be more smoother and faster for a course of this caliber. Other than the disappointing greens, the course is always fun to play with great design, well balanced fun and challenge.

Greens recently aerated, 3/4 healed, only downfall. Excellent layout and conditions. 4 some completed in 4:10,would have been slightly better but believe had 4some jump in front for back 9.

Greens were aerated and were very slow and bumpy which made putting bit frustrating. Otherwise course is in good condition except a few bad burnt out patches on fairways. Pace of play was good, staff friendly and even got free hot dogs and soft drinks...greens will need a few more weeks to heal

This is a beautiful golf course. Pace was slower then usual for this round. Usually not an issue.

As with most courses I play at this time of the year, the greens were a little beat up from ball marks but the ball rolled true on them.

This course has one of the best layouts I have ever had the pleasure to play. Being from Westchester county where all of the best courses are private you learn to appreciate a great muni course. This hands down was one of the best public tracks I have ever played behind bethpage black and trump ferry point. It’s a very gettable course which is right out in front of you and not gimmicky. Finally a course with sanded bunkers and lightening fast pure rolling greens. Don’t be a fool and not play here!

My drive was about an hour away but the deal was too good to let up. When I got there everything was clean and bright. The staff was super friendly. Went to the range and they have a GRASS range which is awesome so I got to warm up. When I got on the course I was blown away by the conditions. Almost felt like I was playing a tour event. Fairways and greens were immaculate and the putts rolled true. Would definitely come back

This course is awesome. The staff is friendly. They have a grass range. Awesome clubhouse. The course was definitely worth it aside from the price it was a little far for me but well worth the trip. The course was in great condition, the greens were perfect. The sand is extreme fluffy and took me a few swings to get out. It’s like powdery fine sand. Definitely stay out of the bunkers.

Excellent pro shop staff, friendly grill room staff; prompt service after golf. Course was in excellent condition. Greens perfect but a little slow.
