Champions Pointe Golf Club

I pity the state of the golf industry. Champions Pointe is an excellent example of wanting to be something that it just can't be. It wants to be a $75 daily fee course, but, in order to keep revenue flowing, they have to sell sub $30 rounds, such as the one I bought.
They want real golfers and advertise golf attire must be worn and that standard golf etiquette be followed, but the guys in front of us whiffed, took multiple shots out of traps, never raked, never fixed a divot or repaired a ball mark. Actually, I'm not sure anyone all day repaired a ball mark! One guy was wearing a tee shirt. And, as for letting us play through? Not a chance.
It's just sad, really.
This course could be very nice, but has been struggling with maintenance for the past three years, steadily showing more and more signs of wear. The greens are nice. Slow, but they roll true.
Seriously, though, we fixed about 10 ball marks every green while we waited in order to keep the pace of play somewhat steady.
I will say that the round moved well, but we were playing later in the day in order to get the "Hot Deal" price. As far as Southern Indiana options go, it's a good place to play. Just a shame, though, that the crowd that should be playing at Hidden Creek or Valley View or better yet, Wooded View, is out here.
There just does not seem to be enough golfers to support that $75 round and keep the place full.
I recommend the course based on it's competition, but encourage you to shop for a price. It's worth playing for $35 or less in its current condition.

There were 3 in my group this day. Over the previous week 6-8 inches of snow had melted and another 5-6 inches of rain had fallen. The banks to the creeks leading to the course were over flowing and yet this course was playable. Was it really wet yes but only a couple places were we had to move our balls due to excess water. This course drains well! We loved the lay out and we will be back to play it again!

i love this course. if i can, i want to play at summer time.

greens were aerated recently, other wise the course was in good shape.

Course in pretty good shape, still recovering the greens from aeration though. Staff was very friendly and helpful

THIS IS NOT A COURSE FOR A BEGINNER TO TRY TO TACKLE. COURSE WAS IN GOOD SHAPE BUT GREENS HAD BEEN AERATED A WEEK OR SO AGO AND MADE PUTTING A LITTLE DIFFICULT. COURSE A LITTLE HIGHER THAN THOSE IN THE AREA

The course is awesome. The greens had been aerated so the conditions were not ideal.

This is a great course ! It is good for an A+ player or your average player. I would suggest this course to anyone a really great play !!

I am a scratch player and was looking forward to playing another fuzzy designed course but upon arriving to see the greens had just been punched I was not so happy...but I overlooked that issue..then we were behind a group that took almost 6 hrs to play and no one in front of them ruined the day completely...oh well maybe next time we will enjoy it better...

The course was a little wet from the rain the night before. The greens were in great shape and rolloing smooth. The fairways were great but a little wet, not much. It apears the the playing area drains well but some spots were a little wet.

Awsome course. Highly recommend hole 18 can be reached in 2 par on it they said be lucky to boggy.

Great course and a great staff. My son and I played 18 this weekend and loved it. Course was in perfect shape. Its a real bonus to stay in the fairways as much as possible. Ruff is hard to get out of. A real challenge, lots of bunkers. GPS on every cart was nice also. Regular price can be a bit much, when you have a child playing, but through Golfnow it was worth every penny. I live close and will play often.

Took a half day from work and booked a tee time for 3:20. Got a great deal, I believe 30 a player course can be twice that. Course in Great shape. Have electric carts with GPS. No score keeping with GPS. They allow you to take carts to pick up your bag from the car.
Course in good shape and some really nice holes. My favorite was the one with two fairways water on one side but shorter and the longer way around. The rough is pretty tall and unless a very good golfer is a penalty. Many of the tee boxes are right to left which is not as good for me as right to left so used my 3 hyprid off the tee box a lot. I was still able to hit most greens in regulation since the fairways really roll...go in the rough and no chance for me.
Really enjoyed the day, would go back. Not sure I would want to pay 75 but perhaps they have a cart girl then and rangers.

Very nice course. A few fairways had some damage from the weather but overall the course was in excellent condition. Look forward to playing again in near future.

I love playing this course. It's always well kept and a pretty good challenge. And it's an absolute steal if you get one of the Hot Deals!!

This is a fun layout and the course was in great condition. I don't think it is nearly worth the $85 weekend price but when you can find a discounted rate it is a great place to play. The course was in great shape and everyone there is very friendly. I will be back!

Excellent value with golf now rate of $35 w/ cart. Nice layout to the course and a decent challenge from the tips. Fairways were in good to very good condition and the greens were excellent. They rolled true and were consistent speed from start to finish. No tricked up holes but pay attention to the GPS map on the carts or have a yardage book or range finder before you hit any tee shot. Nice range with one practice green that was large but only had 5 holes cut in - need more holes cut in when there's 3 foursomes getting warmed up. Plenty of room to add a chipping area to the practice facility which would make it top notch. Good food and beverage - staff was nice and not in your way but there if you needed them. Restroom and shower clean. We had a great day at Champions Pointe.

Just an outstanding track and facility in every way possible. Great test and even better condition.

The course was in really good condition. The rough was a bit high but it could have been because it was the week of a major. There were some areas of bare dirt in the fairway but not enough to take away from the experience. The greens were in great condition with very few blemishes. A very nice track, difficult but fair. A definite to play again.
