Champions Point
Went using a Golf Now hot deal. For this late in the season the course was in excellent condition. I will definitely return.
Great course
Coarse had been aerated about a week or 2 before playing greens were filling in good. If you hit off fairway it was very difficult to find ball slowed down play alot. Had to be on top of ball to find. I understand make you pay for bad shots but not killing you.
Watch your GPS on 16 and 18.
This was my first time playing at Champions Pointe (but not my last), so I didn't know what to expect. Everything was in great shape. From the tee boxes to the greens. The fairways felt like walking a carpet. Although it wasn't the most challenging course, it did have a few surprises. Love the course all around and I will surely be back to play again.
Good Test
Overall i gave the course 4 out 5. The greens were smooth but not exceptionally fast...fairways were in good shape..nice mix of holes..rough was in tough shape in a few spots...some collars and approaches burned out. But as a scratch player i did have fun and would recommend this course to others
Fun and Challenging Course!
Man...overall, I really enjoyed this course from beginning to end. There are a handful of very easy, straight forward holes that you can pad your scorecard on, but there are several holes that demand tactical, precise shots. Fairways and tees were well manicured and the greens were exceptional except on hole 17 where there are some rough, brown spots on the fringe. Aside from that, they all rolled true, lots of breaking putts. The rough around the greens was think and well manicured and the bunkers seemed ok (I only hit out of one, thank goodness). Everybody in the pro shop was friendly and helpful. I prefer this course over Fuzzy's other course (Covered Bridge) because it fits my game a little better. I will definitely be back and hopefully soon!
Awesome place.
I will be back. Really enjoyed this place. It was in great shape.
Good Value
Great price for nine. The course is in good condition.
Great course
I love this course. Challenging but very fair. 16 is as tough a hole as you will find anywhere.
Amazing course
One of the best courses in Louisville area, course was in great shape. I can not wait to play here again.
Always great !
This place is always fun to play the staff is friendly and the conditions are always up to par the only issue I had was on the ninth hole one of the cart guys asked us to speed up. We had been this place is always fun to play the staff is friendly and the conditions are always up to par the only issue I had was on the ninth hole one of the cart guys waiting on almost every tee box, not for long but we were waiting so there was no reason to try to rush or for him to rush us. I asked at the turn if we were behind and the very nice young lady managing the shop told me rounds were averaging 4 1/2 hr so we were right on schedule. I let it go but that was very unusual for this course.
A long day of golf
It took 5 hours to play. It was a wet soggy course and cart paths only was necessary. The threesome ahead seemed to take a long time in addition to the extra time that car paths only requires. The course took all the recent rain very well. The course was lush and I would like to play again under dryer conditions.
Great course
This is second time I have played here, and I believe it is the best course in the area. Fairways in good shape. Greens were excellent. A great test of golf.
Shop for a price!
I pity the state of the golf industry. Champions Pointe is an excellent example of wanting to be something that it just can't be. It wants to be a $75 daily fee course, but, in order to keep revenue flowing, they have to sell sub $30 rounds, such as the one I bought.
They want real golfers and advertise golf attire must be worn and that standard golf etiquette be followed, but the guys in front of us whiffed, took multiple shots out of traps, never raked, never fixed a divot or repaired a ball mark. Actually, I'm not sure anyone all day repaired a ball mark! One guy was wearing a tee shirt. And, as for letting us play through? Not a chance.
It's just sad, really.
This course could be very nice, but has been struggling with maintenance for the past three years, steadily showing more and more signs of wear. The greens are nice. Slow, but they roll true.
Seriously, though, we fixed about 10 ball marks every green while we waited in order to keep the pace of play somewhat steady.
I will say that the round moved well, but we were playing later in the day in order to get the "Hot Deal" price. As far as Southern Indiana options go, it's a good place to play. Just a shame, though, that the crowd that should be playing at Hidden Creek or Valley View or better yet, Wooded View, is out here.
There just does not seem to be enough golfers to support that $75 round and keep the place full.
I recommend the course based on it's competition, but encourage you to shop for a price. It's worth playing for $35 or less in its current condition.
Difficult for novice
Very nice course...man size par 4's...can be de-moralizing ...18 should be par 5
This course can handle the rain!
There were 3 in my group this day. Over the previous week 6-8 inches of snow had melted and another 5-6 inches of rain had fallen. The banks to the creeks leading to the course were over flowing and yet this course was playable. Was it really wet yes but only a couple places were we had to move our balls due to excess water. This course drains well! We loved the lay out and we will be back to play it again!
Nice Course
i love this course. if i can, i want to play at summer time.
good shape
greens were aerated recently, other wise the course was in good shape.
26 October
Course in pretty good shape, still recovering the greens from aeration though. Staff was very friendly and helpful
NICE COURSE
THIS IS NOT A COURSE FOR A BEGINNER TO TRY TO TACKLE. COURSE WAS IN GOOD SHAPE BUT GREENS HAD BEEN AERATED A WEEK OR SO AGO AND MADE PUTTING A LITTLE DIFFICULT. COURSE A LITTLE HIGHER THAN THOSE IN THE AREA
green were aerated
The course is awesome. The greens had been aerated so the conditions were not ideal.
