Wellington National Golf Club
About
Located in the small community of Wellington, Wellington National Golf Club (previously known as Binks Forest Golf Club) offers a tranquil forest setting that is more reminiscent of a North Carolina course than a Florida course. After opening in 1990 to much acclaim, the course unfortunately suffered from poor management and closed for a period of time but successfully reopened in 2007 with a newly renovated 18-hole golf course.
The layout is tight and thanks to the abundant trees, very narrow at some spots. Mature pines line the narrow fairways and the greens roll fast and true. The course thoughtfully incorporates the terrain, utilizing the natural elevation changes and water features. The bunkers were strategically placed to make you really strategize your club selection and target. One of the most appealing aspects of the course is that it can truly accommodate all different skill levels with yardages ranging from 5,268 to 7,253.

I love the layout
The course was great to play. Thepace of play was slow to start but by the 3rd hole we were moving at a good ace. When we made the turn there were 3 foursomes and a twosome on hole ten. There were no marshalls to attend to this problem. We called the clubhouse and were told the problem was a group two holes ahead. Clearly the problem was allowing people to take too much time at the turn. I have played this course several times, and there is noone monitoring slow play. This is a fun and challenging golf course and could be played 4 hours easily. We took almost 5 hours to play. I feel with a little attention they could get more and faster rounds of golf played per day.
This course was a little challenging at times.
Friendly, courteous staff.......Range hitting area needs work....putting/chipping area in good shape.....Rough and fairways on a few holes need some work....greens were good.
Overall had a great time.
Tough greens elevate score
Years ago this was a gem-the years have worn it down, bring it back into shape and it will compete with the best
A favorite course
One of our favorite courses to play. Challenging enough, yet enjoyabl.
Great Greens. Great value.
Surprised by lack of play because the course is great. A challenge yet fun to play.
Not your typical golf course with pine trees along the sides of the fairways.
One of my favorite courses that I play on a weekly basis. This course has some of the best greens around!
tight fairways, greens quick
no rough anywhere near geens, slow play - did not see a ranger -
needed one as groups ahead were slow - all four carts going to all 4 balls - and extended ball fishing - nice course usually
Excellent layout.
While the course is challenging from the tips (length) and the narrow tree lined fairways, it has much to be desired for tee box areas and fairway conditions.
The greens were very receptive and extremely fast.
The personnel were very very pleasant and helpful.
Quality course for play and value
Very fair and enjoyable course, maintained appropriately, and a good value for the money.
Has great challenging features
Great course friendly staff challenging Overall great course and I would play it again
Great play!
Course is very nice, and the greens will make your head spin, they are impeccably maintained and are fast. I love playing here. You can't beat the value and don't let the price fool you, it's a hidden gem.
course in good coditions
Course in goog conditons.
greens very fast, some need a little work.
Course is worth the drive!
Course is in good condition, greens need a little work, but putted OK. Challenging holes that wind throughout many homes.
This course is a chalenge
Nice layout with beautiful homes around; best sand i have seen so far in the bunkers;wide variety of holes with good chalenge; a few greens had bad spots, but not too important; it is a little bit far from Boynton B., but the ride worth it .
Binks Forest - worth the trip
This is a nice course wedged into a large housing residential development. The holes are interesting and there is a good mix of par 3, 4 and 5. Staff was friendly and the starter was great. Early AM round was fast and easy. Course was in pretty good condition including the greens.
Good layout, but not in great shape.
The layout of the course is very good.
However, the rough was in poor shape, and the fairways were only in fair condition. The greens were adequate.
The staff was very helpful and friendly.
It's worth playing for $20...but not more than that
Worst golf range I have EVER seen. No more than 5 to 6 players can hit and the balls are the worst quality. You hit into a dirt/dead grass field that's about 30 yards wide.
Practice putting green just awful...dead grass spots all over.
Club house area/pool are not very attractive. ...very dull...no flowers or nice flora around
As for the golf course...fairways are narrow and hard. Grass quality varies....some nice fairways and then some are weedy and bumpy. Some greens had gouges/ mini sink holes that need to be fixed. Never saw any maintenance persons.
Course was renovated about 5 years ago. They need to renovate again.
Some greens fast, others inconsistent.
Fairways need attention. Crabgrass growing around greens makes chipping/putting from greensides tricky. Fairways being reseeded. Some cartpaths pretty rough or nonexistent.
Good challenging
Good condition and nice layout. Greens are in excellent condition and fairways are well maintainned.
Greens well protected by traps and sand is fun to play in.
Excellent reception by staff.
