Wellington National Golf Club
About
Located in the small community of Wellington, Wellington National Golf Club (previously known as Binks Forest Golf Club) offers a tranquil forest setting that is more reminiscent of a North Carolina course than a Florida course. After opening in 1990 to much acclaim, the course unfortunately suffered from poor management and closed for a period of time but successfully reopened in 2007 with a newly renovated 18-hole golf course.
The layout is tight and thanks to the abundant trees, very narrow at some spots. Mature pines line the narrow fairways and the greens roll fast and true. The course thoughtfully incorporates the terrain, utilizing the natural elevation changes and water features. The bunkers were strategically placed to make you really strategize your club selection and target. One of the most appealing aspects of the course is that it can truly accommodate all different skill levels with yardages ranging from 5,268 to 7,253.

This course was laid back. I felt really relaxed , everybody who works there is super friendly
Great atmosphere. Friendly people that work there. Laid back. Fast play
Course was in terrible condition
Terrible tee boxes, fairways, bunkers, and greens. Nothing good about this course at all
Rural setting a plus, lack of crowds a plus, friendly attentive staff
Generally in good condition but greens need some work in spots.
Not a bad course - drainage a problem
Too wet to play in the rainy months.
Waterlogged and bad drainage throughout much of the course.
Have played others in the area that are better for the money.
Course needs lots of work
It is an OK value at $10 but no more. Course needs much attention! We saw less than maybe 15 people playing at the most. That should say something. Good layout though......
course improvement
I have played alot of courses thorughout the tri-county and this one is the most memorable. I played here about 2 months ago and really loved the layout and the service but the conditions were poor. I was asked to play again and was hesitant because of the conditions but was told it has really improved. I'm glad I played because it is a super value for the money right now as you can tell things are turning around. My favorite holes were 2, 16 and 18.
Meh...
The $10 price point is tempting, but spend an extra $8-$10 to play somewhere else. Some of the tees, fairways, greens are in decent shape, but there are as many not in so great shape.
Very Impressive!
I cannot believe how quickly the course conditions have improved here. Binks has really made a comeback! Great value for the money!
One of the best courses in South Florida. Great food, amazingly friendly staff and fantastic greens
I used to golf at Madison Green. It was ok, but then I tried Binks Forest! Wow! What a great course! The layout is fantastic. And their food is great too! i loved their French Fries and their hot dogs. The entire staff made me feel welcome, like I was a member. I can't wait to go back.
Great layout, Great Staff, Super Fun!!!
I recently played this course and I was impressed with how quickly the conditions came back. The staff was incredibly helpful. The greens were nice, fast, and very receptive. I love the course's challenging layout. The club house area is impressive and food at the Grille was delicious. I recommend this course to anyone!
Great layout and greens are great.
Course was in bad condition a few months ago but has really turned the corner. Definitiely check it out.
Great golf but needs improvement!
Good challenge! The potential is there to be a very nice golf. But there are fews parts of the fairways and near the greens that to be fixed. It`s not maintained enough!
Good layout
This is a tight course. The layout is great and the you will be required to hit all the shots. As with most Florida courses in the early Summer, the course needs maintenance. They are in the beginning of there usual summer maintenance cycle so that's a given. The pace of play was great, staff was helpful and the greens were true.
Greens are not the greatest condition and are like putting on concrete.

Beautiful back 9 fairways
Tee boxes and front nine leave a lot to be desired. Most of the back 9 fairways were in great shape. The greens themselves were in good shape but the placement of the pins last sunday were like a U.S. open course which is a little ridiculous. Saw 2 Staff members and one was cordial, the other didnt have two words to say. I do reccomend it for $20.00 or less and hope they work on the front nine.
Good layout that needs attention
It's a shame that a golf course as good as this has fallen so far. If they ever put the work in that's needed this would be one of the must plays in the area. That said as of right now, tee boxes, fairways are in terrible shape, greens are ok.
cOURSE IN POOR CONDITION.
The greens were fast and ran true, but had little grass. The fairways were green, but mainly weeds.
Pace of play good, probably because of the poor conditions of the course.
Fairways could be in better shape
I used to play this course a few times per year.
It was a good deal then as conditions were nice for the price paid.
Now it's a different story.
Fairways are under average and the rough doesn't look like it's maintained at all. It's in very bad shape.
I have to give a good note for the greens though. There were in good conditions and they were fast.
Needs maintenance
If not for a Hot Rate I would be disappointed in the course condition. The front 9 is a little worse than the back 9. Lots of weeds in fairways and sod patches throughout. Edges of bunkers not maintained. The greens were very fast with patchy grass. The course has a nice layout and staff is very friendly, I haven't played this course in about a year, I've seen it in better shape.
Binks Forest needs lots of work!
Workers were all over the course, working on improving conditions - and does the course need it! The greens were quite fast and playable, and the bunkers were well maintained. But the fairways were as poor as any I've ever played (and I'm ignoring the fact that they were punched and fertilized) and the tee boxes were little better. I've played Binks many times over the years and it is now in absolutely the worst condition I've ever seen it.
