Wellington National Golf Club
About
Located in the small community of Wellington, Wellington National Golf Club (previously known as Binks Forest Golf Club) offers a tranquil forest setting that is more reminiscent of a North Carolina course than a Florida course. After opening in 1990 to much acclaim, the course unfortunately suffered from poor management and closed for a period of time but successfully reopened in 2007 with a newly renovated 18-hole golf course.
The layout is tight and thanks to the abundant trees, very narrow at some spots. Mature pines line the narrow fairways and the greens roll fast and true. The course thoughtfully incorporates the terrain, utilizing the natural elevation changes and water features. The bunkers were strategically placed to make you really strategize your club selection and target. One of the most appealing aspects of the course is that it can truly accommodate all different skill levels with yardages ranging from 5,268 to 7,253.

Good challenge with fast greens
For the money best test of golf in the West Palm Beach and Miami area
Good value
The course was in decent shape. Greens were recently plugged, about a month and a half ago according to my playing partner and are in good shape. Some of the bunkers need some attention, lots of little stones. The starter told me they wil be over seeding soon. Wil definitely play here on my next trip.
A decent price, a decent course, some minor issues
Although the fairways were sparse in places, overall the condition of the greens and bunkers were adequate. The course layout of Hole 10 right next to the very narrow driving range (we use the term loosely because of its narrow space) was scary. There were inumerable balls on #10 fairway from people using the practice area. It is dangerous. No beverage cart and we played on a holiday. Greenside bunkers were nice; fairway waste areas were silly. Greens and tee boxes were nice and some were being reseeded. Nice new golf carts, although gas powered (why?). If you didn't have a GPS or smartphone for yardage, you would be at a loss to calculate distance to pin at times.
They're bringing it back!
Binks has had its ups and downs. Fortunately the new ownership is definitely bringing it back. They have a fleet of new Yamaha carts. The course conditions are much improved. The staff is great as always! Looking forward to seeing it back up where it should be.
Course was in rough shape. It has not been taken care of...
Not a course I would play again. Course in rough shape. Not manicured at all.
Certain holes are tight and tree lined
This course is 7200 from the tips which I played from the plates since they had all the black markers moved way up to shorten the course, great layout, good greens, but the tee boxes are hurting, bumpy, and just in ratty shape. There is crab grass taking over in many places since they are not doing anything to control it, so that was unfortunate....its all about money, and for the price ($25) it was a good value, pay triple and the problems go away, its all relative.
Some good holes...conditions getting a bit better...long way to go
have played here a number of times....course conditions are a real issue...this time they did seem to be somewhat improved but still a long way to go before theyre what i would call decent or acceptable for the quality that it should be...the layout is pretty solid...just need to improve the conditions...and it will take some time because it had gotten pretty far gone...played on an afternoon and two of us played in 3 hours which was a far cry from the 5.5. hour round we had played at about the same time of day the last time out...
great layout must think out second shots.
Pro shop explained change of management and asked for indulgence as course is brought back to top condition but I found the course playable, on the mend, and didn't have a bad lie (in the fairway). I would definately recommend this course to friends. The course is challenging for the average golfer.
nice tract plenty trees
needs a little attention but very nice layout with many tree lined fairways unusual for Fla
What a shame...
This used to be one of my favorite places to play...in the past year and a half, it seems as though they have given up. The course was in terrible condition. There was no distinction between fairways and rough...basically fairways were rough. Greens were terrible...catch my drift. It is really sad. Maybe they lost funding...be warned.
Greens save the day!
I have always enjoyed the layout. The course could use some work tee to green. But the greens are very nice, which saves the day. Good value over all.
The layout is great
This course requires attention, the layout is great, but it needs water badly on the fairways, the greens are fast and true, but they need attention also. I would love to see this course come full circle, as i want to come back and play.
it is not what it used to be
course still needs a lot of work in all areas. tee boxes are rough fair ways are weak, greens are okay
Binks Forest
Great course friendly staff. Fun 19th hole!! Some minor issues with tee boxes and greens. Course has come along way. Recommended
