Dutchman’s Pipe Golf Club
About
Originally opened as the Eagle Course at President Country Club and Banyan Cay Resort & Golf, Dutchman’s Pipe Golf Club was renovated by Nicklaus design in 2017. The fairways are lined with coquina and pampas grass and there are also water hazards and sand bunkers coming into play throughout. The layout offers interesting par 3s that offer particularly nice scenery and a mix of par 4s that range from having ample room to being very tight and requiring more careful course management. The golf course opens with a risk-reward opportunity, a dogleg-right par 5 with a strategically placed lake.

Potential, but issues
I booked a time for 1:29 on Golf Now. I booked that time because according to the system there was another person at that time to play with. I arrived about 12:45, checked in, and so on. I putted for a while expecting someone to let me know when I was teeing off and who I would be playing with. After some time, I walked over to the gentleman who I guess was serving the role as starter, and asked him when I was going and who I was playing with. He informed that the person i was suppose to be playing with already went out and they should still be on the first hole and that I could go if i wanted too. well I got to the first hiole and there was no single in site, only a couple who graciously allowed me to play through. Still no single in site. After the 14th hole i saw a single coming off of the 11th green. i can only wonder if that instead was the person i was suppose to be playing with. All in all, having to play be myself made the round unenjoyable.
As to the course, the layout is fairly nice. I enjoyed the ball striking aspect of the course. However both the greens and the fairways had been aerated. which also cut down on the enjoyment. I think golf industry wide, such conditions should be advertised and discounts given. Anything less is not truth in advertising.
I also lost my phone on the course, which after pushing the subject they returned to me after 3 days. I thank them for returning my phone, but something funny was going on there and I didn't get it back until I let it be known there was a reward.
Not sure i will be going back, but I would imagine it's not a bad experience on most days at this golf course.
FYI I was 3 over after 14 holes when playing alone made me quit.
one of the best
ALWAYS WELL KEPT,HELP EXTREMELY COURTEOUS,FEEL OF A PRIVATE COUNTRY CLUB..
the eagle is just a fine course
the eagle has six or seven sets of tees and can be enjoyable to all golfers i play to a 10 or 11 hdcp at 70 years young can still shoot 80 from the senior tees
Very Challenging
The layout is very challenging and gives the player many options on each hole. the course is in great shape and you can't beat the value for your money. The only thing I would like is a better driving range layout ie more greens to hit to.
Nice non-traditional Florida course, could be in the Northeast.
The Patriot gets less attention that the RTJ Eagle course, but it is challenging and fair. The condition is generally good, on this day the greens were rough, but Hurricane Issac had dumped 18 inches of rain on the area. This course will challenge long hitters and still not kill 20+ handicappers.
GolfNow rates are very fair for the area regardless of the time of year.
this course has nature in mind
great course with well maintained fairways and greens,
this is a well laid out course with well planned bunkers and lakes
it is a very challenging course and nature abounds with natural wildlife,
staff is very friendly and helpful
Eagle Course July through Sept play
While on a project this course was a mile from my motel.
This course was in excellent shape even with all the summer rain.
Challenge your skills by choosing the right tee box. Blue is a good distance for a 235 driver distance. Hope to play it again real soon. You can find great hot deals on Golfnow for this course.
tremendous will keep on going again and again
great value fantastic condition, top quality golf course run by top quality staff, everything was perfect ,even the easy get too location just off i95....
Worth a visit... great course.
The course has a great layout... it is in very good shape (not quite resort quality, but good). The staff inside the proshop is great - play the course... you'll enjoy it.
Top notch course
The undulating greens present an obstacle to scoring really well but the course is open, fair and very well maintained
