I need to play mid-day weekdays more often...
Had a quiet spell at work, and was looking at courses in the area to kill half a day. Cypresswood, which I play quite a bit, was having a lot of Hot Deal tee times, so I took advantage of one. I got there at 10:30 for an 11:02 tee time. Sharon at the counter suggested if I wanted to go out early she could send me out on the back to start. I got my stuff and checked back, and she sent me out at 10:40. As a single in a cart...hitting it straight but not all that long, I was zipping around the course and figured I was going to run into a group and then I would join up...but, hoping to go for a bit so I could get done before the afternoon rains which were expected about 2:00 pm. I ran into one 2 some on 16 and they asked me to play through. Made the turn...got to the sixth hole before I had to wait to hit my approach while the 2 some in front cleared the green. Got to the tee box at 7 and they said I could play through since they were just out having fun. I finished 18 holes in 2 hours 10 minutes. Gee I wish I could do that more often!
Greens not at their best
We often play here and Cypresswood is very good value when you use the hot deal tee times.
The course is well laid out and sits within a very nice community. Not too difficult but enough of a challenge for the average golfer. Currently the greens are in a bit of a state (they've been better) and under going maintenance, which makes putting difficult and could put a few shots on your round.
Staff are friendly and helpful, plus there's a decent bar and patio area for that well deserved beer at the end of your round
Great course for the money
Greens are coming in after being punched 4-5 weeks ago and fairways are in great shape. I grew up playing this course, and still go back for a great layout, price and all the amenities they have. Will definitely play this course more often and let friends know about the course and price to play.
Could be a great course
Tee boxes in horrible shape. Fairways are okay. Greens were to sandy.
beautifull
beautifull course, very long! there was some maintenance, but overalk very good
Horrible
I realize the greens were aerated but they look like bunkers. Fairway is all sand and not worth the price
We just like it. It is not really really hard. We are seniors
Loved it!
The layout was great. Challenging without being ridiculous. The only negative were the greens. They really need attention.
Nice course
Discourse has a really good upside and understand. There's a lack of rain lately, but the course maintenance needs to be a little bit better. Some of the greens were rough. Tea boxes were good. Fairways were very good. Just need a little bit more maintenance
The barren waistland
Ive played this course many times its a good layout and it was in good condition last year this year the greens are terrible the worst ive ever seen them the course over all is in bad condition but if you want a cheap golf round and a bad experience then go for it.
Etiquette
The course “master” was pretty rude. He informed us that we needed clubs for my sons and wife. So, we want to pick some up. When we got back he was talking with a guy in from of us about “where do they make these stupid people?” I’m sure he was talking about us. I was not aware of the rule since I never went to the course with any who did t have a set of clubs with them. He spent about 5-10 mins talking with the guy while the group ahead of them movers on. Then when he asked when our tee time was, he commented we were pretty late. But I explained we had been there for 25 mins. And if we had not had to get clubs or wait for him to joke around about people being stupid we would not have been late. Sometime around the 6th or 7th hole he came up telling us to pick up the pace. I understand pace and appreciate it, but I had 3 people that have never played at all before. And there was nobody behind us. The next group was an entire hole behind us still. And even if they had caught up I would have told them play through, since I know the inexperienced players I had with me were slower than the avg player. Then while I was walking 10-12 ft off the cart path to a ball on the 9th or 10th hole he drove up yelling “don’t walk drive to the ball.” This was during my son trying to hit his ball. While he is inexperienced, he was trying hard to concentrate on his shot. Not to mention he has ADHD and has problems with concentration. Needless to say that only slowed us down more because he had to chase an errant hit because of the guy yelling. Other than this guy and his issues, we had a great time.
First time out and also last time
Course needs major work. Fairway has grass ankle deep. Cart path is like riding down the worst road you’ve ever seen. Tee boxes have more sand than grass. Greens are dried out and in horrible condition. Course needs major work to be able to pay again. For 35 dollars still feel like I over paid.
