Nice Ride in the park
We played on one of the hottest days of the end of summer beginning of fall. The pace of play was wonderful. The greens are immaculate. I will definitely play Diamond Bar again.
Freeway traffic is loud but the course layout is Interesting. We walked. Players need to fix divots on the greens!!
Overall a good experience.
I purchased a 6 pack of beer and they did not provide any ice and the temperature was in the high 90s.
I really do not like the proximity to the freeway as its extremely noisy in some areas.
Pace of play was very slow and I did not see a Marshall to try to move players along.
Cost
I book online and to my surprise, we had to pay $15.00 more for the cart, and that made this course to high for what you get.
Worth it for the greens alone
Really interesting course with some really fun holes! Will definitely bring my push cart next time, $15 extra for a cart hurts the wallet! The greens are the star of the show and worth the price of admission!
Great Round but Let Down
Course is beautiful and well kept. It’s got easy and difficult spots and the layout is pretty cool. When I booked it, however, it said carts were included. We get there and they have like 4 carts on the entire property and are told it’ll be a couple hours wait. So obviously we were left to walk. For $38 in the afternoon. Definitely worth it with a cart, but not at all if you have to walk. This is a long course but walkable too. Overall; Great time and cool course, just bummed about the cart situation.
Typical LA county muni
Rode the Blues (6801/72.0/125) in 4H, 20M mid day. Paired up with DK & Eric, excellent guys to play with! Mid 60's, calm and overcast weather.
Suprisingly good, fun to play layout with multiple holes that turn both ways. Rough around the edges typical LA County muni conditions.
Tees were poor. Mostly level but thin, about 3/4 grass and 1/4 dirt/seed.
Fairways were mediocre. Winter thin with hardpan areas and alot of unfixed divots.
Rough was a mixture of grasses, winter thin but mowed well.
Traps were mediocre. 2 were okay, 1 thin with dark brown dirt/sand. Raked by the maintanence crew in the morning. However, seemingly at high % of the players that regularly play LA County courses think the rakes they put beside the bunkers are for someone else to use?
Poa greens were very good bordering on excellent. Quick, downright fast on downhillers and smooth for poa. They were moist, you could leave large ball marks and back up irons on these greens.
Very basic carts do not have GPS or ports for electronics. No cart person. Busy range hitting off mats and it was busy at check-in. I would occassionally play here if I lived in the area, fun layout and very good greens would tend to override the otherwise mediocre playing conditions for me.
Diamond
Nice course layout is good, green good condition, slow play 5 1/2 hours round that’s long.
Pace of play
I don’t know how you guys let 5somes on. Especially a 5some then another 5some Behind them followed by a 2some which is their wives. But every time it does not fail that the pace of play is trash. Need to stop allowing “walk ons” and “5somes” play. The sad part is, I actually like the course but I will never be going there again due to the pace of play. Started at 11:20 did not end until 4pm.
Over booked
Pace of play was horrible. At one point we were waiting at a hole cause there were 3 groups ahead of us playing slow. We went to the club house to talk to manager and he said there was nothing he could do. When he called the the Marshall the Marshall lied and said everything was running smooth. They over booked the course and acted like it’s normal.
Course in good shape employees were vary helpful and nice especially bartender/cafe attendant
6 hour round - never again
Not sure what causes the extremely slow pace of play at Diamond Bar. Second time I suffered through a 6 hour round. Maybe over-booking is the cause. But I never once saw a marshal checking the course for pace of play. Won't be back on a weekend ever again.
