The Golf Club at Rancho California

This was my first time at this course, and I must say I was impressed by the conditions and the layout. Some of the holes were a little tough to see where I'm hitting to, but overall the price was excellent for the experience. Very helpful & friendly staff, and the course Marshall was super nice.

Good that they have a marshal even on weekdays we were able to finish the round before it got dark because he kept the pace going.

Weather said Santa Ana wind condition with gust up to 30 mph. Was tempted to cancel but glad I did not. Would like to play there again soon but it was a long drive for me-70 miles one way Will return when somebody to drive me there. I remember playing. there about 40 years ago.

Booked thru golf now. Great rate. No issues. Good layout. Good condition. Good food. Good pace.

I’ve played courses in the area but I always find myself coming back to this place. Great lay out, Course is great for all skill levels.

I've been golfing on this course for over 30 years. I was pleased to see how well the course is being maintained. The greens are impeccable, tee boxes, sand traps, fairways nicely groomed. The course has come a long way and the improvement is surprisingly obvious.

I can't wait to go again.

The weather was perfect. Yes, it was windy, but it gave the course that much more fun. Great staff. The greens were very good. The course is drying up though.

The weather was perfect. The staff was friendly. I went out as a single and paired up with another single. It took a foursome an hour and 10 minutes to finish 3 holes. I called the club house. They spoke to the foursome and nothing happened. The group let me pass them at hole 10. After allowed to pass the foursome the round was awesome.

The green were fast and in really good shape. The fairways were just at the tail end of overseeding and had a few barespots to contend with. Hit a shot on #2 (par 3) that looked o.k. Looked again and my ball had rolled back into the hazard. Course always plays long and the rough is just that, rough. Good thing I hit 10/14 fairways.

Course was pretty good condition. Had a great round. The restraunt closed at 3:30. Finished round at 3:45. Pro shop staff could be a little friendlier.

Very nice course have played it a few times enjoy playing it today we had no one in front of or behind so we could play at our own pace and played it in around 3 hours

The fairways had been overseeded, leading course management to impose cart path only rules for the entire course.. In addition, the fairways had not been mowed in some time, resulting in the entire course being rough.

course was lightly punched and seeded a week ago and is in excellent condition

This review applies only to the date of play, which was about 10 days after aeration of greens, fairways, and tees. Everything considered, conditions were not too bad. Fairways definitely required preferred lies. Greens looked good, but were extremely slow.

This course is a mess right now. It’s a shame too since it’s a Robert Trent Jones Design. 4 fairway was literally a hayfield. Grass 4 inches high...in the fairway!!!! Greens are a wreck too, extremely bumpy and slow. I can’t believe the owners are letting this awesome layout get trashed.

Great staff, challenging but fair layout, nice practice areas. I definitely recommend playing here.
