Horrible design, great shape
There are so many holes (especially par 4s) that just don’t make sense. Many of the fairways slope to the side of the trouble so it is impossible to shape the ball here such as holes 4 and 11. With these sloping fairways, it also does not reward hitting good drives into them with the ball often below or above one’s feet. With that being said, the greens and fairways were in great shape especially for the time of year (mid June).
6 hours play
No one supervised the course situation and finally 6 hours and 10 min played. DONT GO. WASTE TIME AND MONEY!
Course in very good shape
I love the layout of this course. The elevation changes make a very challenging- yet still fair.
The greens are quick- but roll true.
Very nice track !!
Slow pace
I felt that they staggered to many groups to close to each other. It was very slow I ended up leaving after the 9 hole and It took us 3hr to play.
Now is the time
Having played here many times, now is the time to enjoy this course. Rainy weather makes this course very player unfriendly. Greens are in great shape, highly receptive, players need to do better at repairing their pitch marks. Fairways are green with limited dead spots. Tee boxes are mostly very good. Bunkers continue to improve and if the players do a better job at maintaining them, the better. Pace of play at 850am on Saturday was just under 4.5 hours.
Overall- course in good condition
It’s been a while since I have played the Meadows. The fairways were fairly lush and consistent.
The greens were smooth and pretty fast.
The only complaint was the bunkers were in terrible condition. They have obviously
been ignored- they were not machined or raked- many had large puddles and were unplayable. My partner hit into 3 bunkers and ended up with “fried eggs” on every one !!!
Overall- I like this course. Good layout and challenging.
Annoying
This course is not overwhelmingly difficult. However, it’s annoying. Narrow uphill par 4 with blind second shot. Huge par 4 with uphill landing spot, blind downhill second. No better on the back as the uphill and downhills continue.
First time and I'll be back!
Met a friend who lives in Pomona and decided to play a full round with cart for $55.
The staff was helpful, the pace was perfect (4 hours for 18 holes) and the course was great. Tee boxes and fairways were clean, greens recently punched so slow, but playable and the course had some challenging holes.
We'll be back.
