Shandin Hills Golf Club

This was my first time playing this course and since it was Mother’s Day, it was pretty open.

The course is challenging with some strategically placed bunkers. This is where part of the issue I have with this course, but to be fair, just about every course in So. Cal suffers from horrible bunker conditions, the sand/ dirt was wet in most every bunker, making it stupid to try to hit out of. Also, the fairways were nicely cut and very playable but if you get off on any of them, there was deep grass/ weeds which made finding your ball very hard. I lost a couple of balls in the deep rough. You’d think that maybe they could cut down the grass a bit to make the rough more playable or to speed up play since you won’t speed 10 minutes looking for your ball.

I will come back and play here. The staff seemed very nice and helpful.

You can sometimes get a deal to play here for under $30 with a cart, which is an insane deal in today’s golf climate. The course conditions are better than some similar ones in the same price range, I’d absolutely play here over other $30 options.

Nice to get out after work, but grass conditions were thin except for the greens. Greens were in good condition, just really slow. Great value for the price!

Greens have been repaired but already starting to go downhill again with brown spots!

Excellent first time playing here. Surprising but nice and well kept.

Pace of play was a little slow but played under four hours for a 9:30am tee time. Greens are green and slow. No more burnt greens but they need to be cut. Other than that much better and looks like it’s continuing to get better!

The course was perfect. Greens were almost perfect. Grass kinda of thick but that’s ok. Love seeing the bright green grass. The staff were awesome. The cart girl was fabulous and friendly. Loved another great day at Shandin hills golf course. Still one of my favorite courses to play. And the price was great too.

I’ve played here many times and I enjoy the layout, course was in decent condition. Found out they had punched the greens recently when we arrived but they discounted the rates due to the greens, which I appreciated. Pace of play was absolutely awful, the group ahead was 3-4 holes behind and there was no Marshall around enforcing pace of play. The boom in golf’s popularity is generally good but unfortunately it also brings in groups that have no courtesy, think that the course is just an extension of the bar and they ruin pace of play of courses that are on the cheaper side. Probably won’t be back for a while due to that, I’d rather pay more money to play at courses that weed out these types of groups.

Green is quite slow and i am not sure why there is so much water (there was no raint last 5days).

Green is not in great condition and fairway could be better. Random tire tracks in the fairway and waterlogged bunkers

Great day to golf. The course was in much better shape then the last time I was here. Greens were in much better shape but can still use some improvement. Sand actually was hittable in most of the bunkers. I really enjoyed the day.

Heard the course was in rough shape the last few months but it’s back to normal now. Will definitely be back

Great, relaxed course. Fairways are well maintained and green, well watered. I forgot my putter at home (next to my practice green like an idiot) and they fished one out of lost and found for me. Fairways are wide, plays well for a fade. Bunkers are deep but very avoidable.
