San Dimas Canyon Golf Course

Absolutely love the course and staff make it a great time for a great round !

We booked the first tee time of the day. 5:45am. Arrived on time, but for some reason a group jumped ahead of us. Marshall said it was the course staff, but “dont worry you wont see them, they play fast.” Definitely not. The group was slow, had to wait on them numerous times, which bottlenecked the first few groups. I thought it was unacceptable, especially since we booked early to plan on playing a quicker round.

The course layout and conditions were good, but the pace of play is horrible. No Marshall or Admin keeping the pace of play and talking with slow groups. I would like to recommend but the pace of play needs to be addressed.

Second time playing this course-the first time took nearly six hours. Things happen, so I gave it another chance and after a 2 hour and 50 minute nine, I just left the course.there was a fivesome playing behind us, 3 of which were kids all under 10. There were two groups in front of us with more than 4. How does this happen? Why is this allowed? Just don’t come here or they’ll never change. At one point on hole five we were backed up three entire groups (pic attached).

Greens are fast, tough to read with some odd breaks A good test of golf but the layout is somewhat quirky, it has good mixed of challenging par 3's, tough par 4's and gettable par5s.. Ex. a good drive splitting the middle the fairway on the 13th hole should not rolled in the pond on the left. What is the point hitting the middle of fairway and watch is roll all the way down into the lake guarding the par 3 16th hole?
