Located in the heart of the Silicon Valley, Santa Clara Golf & Tennis Club offers some of the best Santa Clara golf deals. The course is within walking distance of California's Great American Theme Park and a approximately 40 miles from downtown San Francisco.
The Santa Clara Golf & Tennis Club was designed by Robert Muir Graves and was opened 1987. This 18 hole course (par 72) covers 6,722 yards from the championship tees. The course has a rating of 72.3 with a slope of 119 on bent grass. The course is well kept. The course has several water hazards, many strategically placed sand traps and sloping greens. In the afternoon, the wind can become a factor as the greens dry out becoming very quick. This course offers plenty of chances to make golf shots.
When your are ready to make Santa Clara tee times, you can ask about Santa Clara Golf & Tennis Club discounts offered on a daily basis. Reservations may be handled online or through the course starter. Amenities include a large nite-lit driving range and practice facility, a pro shop, cart and club rentals, 7 lighted tennis courts for rent by the hour and a restaurant/bar.
Players rave about the practice facility. The driving range is large and the hitting mats are very good. The course is well maintain.

Some challenging holes!
A great course for 18 holes in 3 hours. Enough of a challenge with some good short holes as well.

Good Value Golf course in South Bay

Fairway in Good Condition, Confusing Layout, Very Windy
The nice part is that most of the fairways are well maintained and the lies are just right, not too hard or too soft. Most of the greens are in good condition, only a few seemed worn out.
A number of tee boxes are kind of hard to figure out. I suspect it would take a number of plays to figure out. Can be improved with clear signs.
The course layout is also very confusing for me. Often cannot tell which way or how far to go.
The worst part is the wind, stronger than Shoreline, almost every hole. It's location specific, certainly no fault of the management.

Great conditions but players' negligence impact greens
Due to all the rain the area has received, the course was in very good condition. Some of the greens have areas that are marked as under repair. But the greens as a whole roll pretty smooth and fast. The only drawback is that many players dont fix their divots which is too bad as it impacts the overall play of the greens.

Weekend golf
second time playing the course...a little backed up as first great sunny day and greens punched...otherwise great time out.

Thank you for the positive review. It was busy this weekend as the fabulous weather brought everyone out to play. We were monitoring and pushing pace and will continue to keep things moving.
We had to slide the aerification in once the rain let up. The greens are growing back incredibly quickly with the help from Mother Nature and her warm weather and a little help from good dose of fertilizer.

It was just too slow. A ranger did come out and try to help but you can’t stop all these hipsters who shouldn’t play from the blacks or blues and barely hit past the reds.

Just ok
GREENS were great putted true and very receptive. Fairways need some work. Roughs were terrible. Sandtraps pretty good

Course in great condition, guy in pro shop not so great
I’ve played here many times and the pace of play has that always been slow. I’ve played this morning and I was done in three hours and 25 minutes! Course conditions were great!, little chilly this morning with a 8 o’clock tee time. Greens were quick even with the morning dew. Person behind the cash register at the pro shop pretty rude, asked him a few questions about the course, and I got a snide remark. All in all was worth $25 and I come back again.

Even the tee box's......
Greens were good
Tee box's still uneven especially the par 3, hole #4. That hole is always uneven. We pay enough to play the game and why don't you guys roll the tee box's like the green's.

Most challenging putting greens in the Bay
Nice course layout with some of the hardest putting in the Bay. If your that scotch glass in office or living putting enthusiast. This course is for you. Well manicured greens. Compliment to the Grounds Crew

Thank you for the feedback. We did have some fertility issues with the greens from the heavy winter rains. The greens are improving quickly and are receiving intense attention and care every day from our Superintendent. Come back in a week or two and see the changes for yourself.
The property is not closing until fall so there will be plenty of time to play.
