Picture perfect day at Spanos Photo submitted by Tem23powtfgj on 07/06/2013
The Reserve at Spanos
Beautifully maintained course. Plenty of challenge with water and bunkers on most holes. Very friendly and helpful staff. Biggest downside was no enforcement of pace of play so was a little slow. Club house was nice as well.
We love this course.
Well groomed. Nice driving range. Friendly staff. Challenging. Nice greens.
Afternoon at the Reserve
The best central California golf course in the valley!
Great Course
Really nice course. The greens aren’t the nicest, but overall a fun course to play. Will be back.
Not worth the weekend rates of $75
Nice layout, the conditions were a bit disappointing considering the cost of $75 on weekends! Greens had unrepaired divots all over them. I had a tee time off 730 so it wasn’t like a whole day of golfers ahead of me. Bunkers were soggy and again you’d think for the green fees they would have nice white fluffy sand in them, just regular mixture of sand and dirt. Fairways were trimmed but just ok nothing spectacular. Elkhorn up the street is better kept. Spanos is a good track I just think they are over charging, it’s a $50-$60 a round, $75 is a bit excessive but hey who am I. People are paying it.
1st time - will be back
First time playing The Reserve at Spanos- not my best day but enjoyed the course. The course is a very interesting layout with lots of fairway bunkers and some water especially on the back nine. Played combo tease about 6300 yards which is in my comfort zone. Course is in pretty good shape - greens rolled well I’ll albeit a bit Sandy on a couple of them. Only complaint is true for almost every course I play nowadays which is they need to add sand to the sand traps. Will be back!
Bunkers
Great course fairways and greens were in great condition. Only complaint was the sand in the bunkers. Clumpy and hard sand.
Sunday morning at Spanos
Checked in with the pro shop and was told the tee times were actually a little ahead, which is always a great sign on a Sunday. It was myself and a friend. We were joined by another twosome. Played the Combo tees, which provided a good mix of blue and white distances. Course was in great shape. Pace of play was great, too. We never saw anyone in front of us and only had a group show up behind us on about the 13th. The wind picked up a bit, adding to the challenge. Overall, great course. I'll play it again, for sure.
Great course! Each hole unique!
Easily one of the finest golf courses in the central California valley
Great Course
When I arrived, I checked in at the Pro shop. Staff inside wasn’t friendly nor welcoming. This is the second time that I have received an unwelcome response or interaction while checking in at this course. Each time I had booked through GolfNow. Maybe because I had booked through a 3rd party website. The course was in good condition, fairways and tee boxes were in good shape but the greens didn’t roll smooth and were fast.
