Avalon Country Club

I have played this course about 6 times now. The greens are large,undulating,and fast if you are above the hole. It is a challenge,but fair if you place the ball in the right area of the green. The pin placements are well marked on the scorecard.I would recommend playing this course if you are in the Knoxville area. Ken.

Avalon is nestled in a picture perfect setting with gorgeous homes surrounding the course. Lots of elevation changes and some great views of the Smokies and just a couple of holes that border Interstate 75. Great job of providing scorecard and a detailed map/lLayout of the course. Golfers should know that the greens are not for the faint of heart or the begining golfer. A three putt lurks on every green and make the round that much more enjoyable and challenging! The course is in good shape but the fairways were a bit thin. Avalon is a real test of golf skill from tee to green and you leave wanting to play it again.

Beautiful course for a great price. Fairways were not fully green yet due to the time of the year. But this course is beautiful.

Unfortunately the course was very wet thanks to torrential rain the past couple of weeks. It doesn't seem to drain as well as other area courses. But greens were in excellent condition. A bit noisly as several holes border a freeway. Overall, however the course has a great layout with a nice mixture of challenging and not-so-challenging holes. Fun to play. Great pro shop and resturant staffs!

I have been playing Avalon for quite some time and its currently in the worst shape I've seen. Green fees have increased and the quality of the course has decreased.The fairways have no grass as other comparable courses do. There are plenty of houses that had better grass in their yards. Every sand trap had rocks and the edges needed to be weeded and edged.

the greens were great medium fast and they would hold a medium iron in

the layout was teriffic every hole something different

Was just super crowded for a mid day weekday and took entirely to long to play.

Not a great value for the money until the bermuda starts to come in. A lot of muddy lies, aerated greens, and water in the bunkers. Should green up by mid May.

It's normally a fine course but due to the recent amount of rain and the greens being aerated it was a mess. My opinion is that it should not have been open.

This course sits on rolling and some very low land. The previous night had very heavy rainfall. Although we enjoyed the course and our treatment from the staff, cart trail only being necessary because of the very wet conditions made our day a little less enjoyable. We look forward to playing this course with better playing conditions. We appreciate a course this nice allowing four retired seniors to play with a reduced rate.

for the time of year we played, temp was 42 degees, the greens were excellent. for the amount of undulation they have and the spped, it is very challanging. the course itself is pretty hilly leaving you with some drastic elevation changes.

I like the variations of holes, challenging but not too tough. The day I played it was exceptionally wet, cart path only, and standing water in many places/fairways. The greens were sneeky quick with a lot of turn, although they were also a little bumpy from ball marks (probably due to the wet conditions recently).

I was so disappointed to find this course in such bad shape after playing here year after year. It is one the most premier courses in the area. 2/3's of the fairways are dead and being watered as you play! It is one of my favorites but I wont be back until next spring maybe by then they can improve the course.

This is an excellent course. Great value from Golfnow. The regular green fees are double or triple what I paid to play this course.
There are about 22 bunkers to keep you on your toes.
I will more than likely play this course again.

For under $30 this is the best course I've played in a looong time. Made the terrible mistake of playing in 35 degree weather, but the staff was so nice they gave me a voucher for the back nine when I come back. Greens were super fast and the bunkers are well placed and challenging.

Course was in nice shape for this time of year -- Nov. 21st.
I'm sure the greenskeeping staff knows they need to add some sand to the bunkers in early spring.

Love this course, great layout,challenging but fair. Staff not really friendly, could use some additional customer service training.

Golf course maintenance has declined considerably. Bunkers are unplayable (no sand, Rocks). Tees and greens are pretty beat-up. With a price point simmilar to Willow Creek and Rarity Pointe near by, I would avoid Avalon.

All greens but one were in really good shape and held shots well. Fairways were good for this time of year. There are several elevated tee boxes that offered fantastic views of the landscape and I would recommend the course for future play. I will definitely be coming back!
