Bristow Manor Golf Club

Start time was 640am. I was a single and paired up at the course. No problem. A third golfer was added to our group for total of 3. Played first 6/7 holes without event, and then a Marshall approached to inform us at #8 we were at 2 hours and needed to pick it up. The foursome behind us was in site but I never saw them wait or hit into us. I did see that they were on the side of fairways looking for errant balls often though. At the 9th hole they approached me and told us to pick it up. I offered to let them play through and they accepted. Then we waited for 5+ minutes as they completed their chips onto the green. Flag was pulled and they began their putting routines and we decided to continue out to our 2nd shots. We putted out and they were still not on the tee. We assumed they decided not to play through so we went to #10 and proceeded with our round. I would have bought lunch but felt rushed and hoped a beverage cart might show up on the back nine. Nope. Just marshals. We never saw foursome behind us again. At #13 another marshal asked us to pick up our pace. Again no one behind us, and no one in front of us. At #16 another marsall told us to pick it up. I noticed that we were on about a 4 hour/10 minute pace. Finished the round at 11am.

The course was pretty wet and the rough was high making it difficult to find balls quickly. The course played very long (from yellow tees). I shot an 88 (I am a 13.5 Index), but it was a fun day except for the issue with the group behind us and the marshals. BTW, we were playing with a marshal from BM (he was our 3rd). Perhaps the marshals should get some training. I love fast golf and a reasonable pace. I think if we had been allowed to walk the round would have easily been under 4 hours. No beverage cart on a weekend?? Not sure if I'll play here again given the experience.

Overall, the course staff is pleasant. Started left a lot to be desired especially considering he didn’t even have his shirt tucked in. There were tee times every 10 mins, which led to a painful 5:15 hour round. I would recommend the course, but not when as crowded. This was also painful because they had 5sones in a few groups. 18th hole needs a lot of work too. Overall, my favorite part was the cafe, the cafe staff, and their food.

I was definitely excited to play this course but my hopes were let down from tee box’s to fairways both being in bad shape and fairways were not mowed and pretty thick greens were in decent shape but overall would not say this course is something to write home about

this is NOT a $100+ course. it is a $50 course at best. this green fee of $100+ will be it's demise (if it hasn't started yet). regulars are avoiding this course due to its unwarranted green fees!!! this course lacks "character" (forest greens in triangle for half the price has more "character" than this one).

Course is cutting every corner.

Don’t waste your time getting a drink cause they don’t put any booze in them.

GM was talking bad about my group before we even teed off.

Staff admitted they don’t like working for him.

Toxic environment simply because of the manager

Well Maintained, new carts, new driving range tees. They have done a lot of work over the years and it shows. We got through 17holes then it started raining a little, teed off on 18 approach shot 10ft for birdie and the heavens opened up and poured on us so we gracefully retreated to the tunnel. Will visit again!

If you get get a round here for under $80 it's worth it. Nice conditions, fun course

Fun and challenging, the course is in great shape. The rough is thick so hit your fairways

Course was in good shape. Always known it to have a good layout. Fairly open, well placed bunkers and challenging greens location.

If you’re looking for a challenge with an unkept course and people starting early and taking their time without a Marshall to govern, look no further

I’ve played this course several times, but not in the past 6 months. The conditions have gone way downhill. It’s unfortunate, as it used to be a really nice course. I’m not sure if the reasoning behind just neglecting the course conditions, but it’s now behind all of the other courses in Prince William county for course conditions.
