just as the example summary.
I've enjoyed a lot the roufhness and the wildness of the course.
It was very challenging!
Very nice course wish it had been during spring or summer as course was worn.
Price from Golf Now was good however I wish I could have played during better conditions was 46 degrees and cold. Course is laid out very nice and I am sure would be great in summer. I feel a lower winter rate would have been more appropriate.
Course was maintained, but play was very slow!
Very long wait time to tee off - Over 1 hour. Stopped after first 9 holes, took my twosome over 3 hours to play nine.
Prepare to have your tee time rescheduled
To keep this short, the staff was unable to adequately manage the amount of people on the course and subsequently backed up tee times by over 2 hours. The course is infamous for overbooking. The staff is not friendly by any means. The wait on each hole is horrible, as the course allowed 8 people to play in a single group. Poor course management as well. Save your money, time, and patience and play somewhere else.
Too crowded
Got tee time at 11:40am but didn't tee off until 12:30 so of course we didn't finish before sun down. Very difficult course, winding and hilly with a lot of blind shots. Paid $40 to start in the morning on the weekend which would have been great value if it wasn't that crowded.
Very friendly staff
Course is moderately challenging. Tee boxes and fairways were not as pristine as expected. Greens were decent. Cart was super slow, however did have GPS. Play was very nice until we got to the last two holes. There were 6 groups in total on the last two holes; it took about 45 minutes to play them. There was no marshall on the course nor was there a refreshment person/cart. We were however able to get a great rate on Golf Now - ($25). The course was well worth the $25, but I don't see playing this course at the full weekend rate as there are better options out there for the money such as Forest Greens and Cannon Ridge.
Don't pay more than $50---conditions need to be improved to justify spending more $$$.
Some of the greens and fairways were brown and broken---or just lost. They've lowered the prices and so they should given the conditions. It's a pretty course but not worth anywhere above $50---even in Northern Virginia.
Course in horrible shape
With all the golfing options in the northern Virginia area I was surprised at the poor condition of this track. Seemed like minimal effort has been put into maintaining this course - tee boxes, fairways and greens all weedy and bare patches. I know it was a hot summer, but none of the other courses in the area seemed to 'let things go' the way Virginia Oaks did. Should just shut it down until next year if it's not going to be properly maintained.
Nice layout. Very poor conditions
Always like the course layout. Not sure why the course was in such poor condition. Other courses managed by this group were in much better condition.
