This course is very playable all year long
The course played very well even after significant rainfall the day before. We were early for our tee time and after hitting balls on the GRASS range, we were able to tee off before the allotted time. The course is very walkable and just enough variation to keep you on your toes and the pace of play was right on. We had a great time.
This course is ideal for intermediate and experience golfers.
The course is inviting, but when you begin play you'll find the course to challenge your ability to plan your shots caarefully. If you enjoy a stemp of 13 or better the course is a good fit for you.
Great Greens and Great Value
Played on a Wed afternoon with rain probable (downpour waited until 15th hole) and played as a 2-some all 18 holes in 3:15. Great greens in terms of speed, true roll and challenge. Finally, thanks to G/N, also a great value!
Inexpensive afternoon round, fantastic greens.
We played a late afternoon round that started out a little slow but the pace picked up after the third hole and finished in four hours. The course was in very good shape and the greens were fantastic. I play almost 200 rounds a year at courses all over Western Washington and several times a year in the Phoenix area. I play munis to private courses, from super inexpensive to extremely expensive courses and Capitol City is a fun, challenging layout. The generous fairways are lined with big mature trees, so if you stay down the middle your round will be much less challenging. If not you will have to be able to hit some low shots to get out of trouble. There are bunkers beside every green except hole #5. Most of the bunkers are not overly deep and the sand smooth and consistent. The greens are average size and most are slightly elevated and sloped from back to front. The greens roll true and fast. I really enjoy playing these greens. The clubhouse restaurant has great food and the cart girl is the bomb! A great place to enjoy a round in The Olympia area and the best when it's been raining as it drains very well.
This course offers a diversity of holes that have you playing different shots constantly.
The course was in beautiful shape, with lush green fairways and smooth greens that were a pleasure to view. Great wet weather course also.
Nice course especially with GolfNow price.
Started 45 minutes after scheduled start time because of a tournament and then slow play along the way, but very nice course and beautiful day. Enjoyed the day especially with GolfNow price.
Fantastic greens!
I have played this course many times, but this was the best condition the greens have ever been in. They were fast and rolling true. I always enjoy playing this course, but yesterday was exceptionally nice.
Unknown obstacle
wish I'd known beforehand that the good deal was due to an unmentioned tournament going on at the time.
good value
If you can tolerate the high and mighty attitudes of the players who go regularly to this course its not bad at all. Lucky for me the players that I was placed with were down to earth easy going good people.
Great walking course
Course is fun with plenty of challenges. Excellent value for the fun you can have playing this well established course.
Course was in great shape
The course was not particularly Challenging, but fair enough. What is missed in challenge though it more than made up in the condition of the greens and fairways. Very well maintained course, and for once there were enough restrooms on a course.
Course is in great shape
Capitol City is in great shape. The greens are fast and the course is playing firm.
Highly recommended.
Great all around course. Hidden gem!
I decided on the 20 April I wanted to play a new course around the Lacy area, so I used GolfNow. I found in my opinion a hidden gem of a course.
I would like to start off by saying the staff was wonderful and the golf cart person was super friendly.
I'm old school and like to walk a course, if I can. This course was challenging and walkable. The fairways are maintain wonderfully and I thought the greens rolled excellent for this time of the year in western Washington.
If I lived closer I would make this my home course. This is truly a hidden gem for a public course.
, great wet weather course, there green keepper should work witrh other golf courses.
great wet weather course, there greens keepper should work with other courses,
good course
they just sanded the greens so they played very poorly but besides that the course is a good all around course
Good Winter Golf!!
Fun course, drains well which is a bonus up here with all of the rain and they cover the greens at night to help with frost delays. Overall a GREAT value. Staff is friendly and very PRO Taylor Made......
Fairways are excellent, greens a bit fast
My husband and I and a single player we met there had a great time; we were surprised that on a Sunday play moved along well. There really is nothing I don't like about the course. It is relatively easy to walk, a feature both of us enjoy.
Better than expected
Hadn't played at this course for >10 years. Greens much better than remembered. Played in very wet conditions (rain throughout round) and the ground was draining well in most places. Flat course, not a lot of challenges, small range. Good 'value' course.
Great Fairways, slow greens
Walked this Olympia 18 with my old man and a buddy. It was really reasonable rates with a small pro shop and a nice bar. Fairways were great, dry and well cut. Greens had just been punched and sprayed with chemicals and were in rough shape. Tremendously slow. Like putting on carpet. The only other negative was the yardage markers at the Tee boxes and fairways didn't add up. But for the price it was a fun round.
This course is as avdertised - the best wet-weather course in western Washington.
Great course for the amountof rai we've had recently. A little soft ini a few places - but very playable. Green were in great shape - putts rolled well!
