Pace of play was great and course was in great shape givien the rain we have had.
This is one of my favorite courses in the Lacey area as the pace of play was great (only saw one golfer in 18 holes and the course was in fantastic shape!!! This is one of the dryer courses in the wintertime to play.
Great challenge and lots of fun
I live near Capital City Golf Club and play it when I want to get in a good 18 holes. The fairways are narrow and it forces you to be accurate with your drives. The course suffered a large amount of damage from last winter’s snow and ice storm. They have done a wonderful job with all the repairs. They seem to be working hard to keep this course one of the best in Western Washington. The only thing I don’t care for is that the driving range is in between two fairways and these two fairways seem to have a large number of range balls on them all the time, so on both of these two holes you really want to stay on the left side of the fairway. To close on a positive, this is a great course for winter play as it is a nice dry well drained golf course and an excellent choice for play on our winter rainy days.
Great value course
Well it's October in Western Washington and the rains have finally shown up in earnest. The course drains well though and was very playable. Our foursome moved along at a good clip, two in a cart and two walking and the whole round was finished between 4 and 4 1/2 hours. The trees are big and old and provide good reasons to stay in the fairways. It gets lots of play, probably because it's close in, pretty well maintained, fun and a very good value.
Great value
Played several times..... great value. Met some real nice people we were paired with.
twilight golf is a unique experience.
rented a cart so that 18 holes could be completed with time to spare. greens were true and don't break as much as it looks.
got to experiment with new driver and approached greens from angles not normally played. (for example nearly drove greens on 4,5,8,9,12,15,17). people are really friendly at this course whether they worked at golf club, restaurant, or just played.
PRO: cost is reasonable, plenty of sand, dogleg right and dogleg left for variety, play it forward in effect, men's and women's club membership available, reachable par 5's in two.
CON: tight fairways with houses, some days very crowded, watch out for local tournaments at time you want to play.
We play here regularly.
We can become complacent with a course so close to home where we play year around. We have found in our travels that this course is better than we realize. Sometimes, after playing some courses on our travels, we look forward to getting home to play this excellent course. Restaurant is also a great place to dine after play with good prices and excellent food.
This is a interesting course.
I'm a 20 handicap, and I like this course a lot. Wide fairways and fast greens make this course challenging in a way that you really have only yourself to blame for having a bad round. It is obviously that my view is shared by a lot of people since on the weekends play is really slow. Still, it is a really well-kept course that is a pleasure to play on.
Great Value - Nice Course
Fairways and greens are in great shape, rough is very dry right now and your ball will roll a lot further if you get into a little trouble. Not a difficult course, flat course layout with moderate challenge just nice to play - great value for the price.
Best Value in Western Washington
Excellent course. It is advertised as the driest course in Western Washington. I can attest to this... except for the ice storm last year, I played every weekend all year round. After you're done golfing, try out the restaurant; Excellent food (buy a membership and you get BOGO on all dinner entress. Can't beat it.
