Lionhead Golf and Country Club - Legends
About
The Legends Course at Lionhead Golf & Country Club has been ranked before as one of the toughest golf courses in North America and the club boasts that it is the toughest in Canada. Lionhead Golf & Country Club also offers another, less demanding 18-hole course that is equally entertaining, the Masters. Legends features numerous challenges including vast lakes, cavernous sand bunkers, and tall fescue. The layout winds through a rugged portion of the Credit River Valley with steeply rolling terrain and wooded ravines, providing the golf course with elevated, undulating greens. The eighth is a notable hole, both for its beautiful scenery and its difficulty level. It is a long par 3 over a pond filled with tall bulrushes.

Just horrible
For the money you are spending it should be in better shape. Fairways are awful greens have been recently air rated and they don't tell you that on any booking site. So very disappointed because the course was really nice years ago before the pandemic. RUFF is like concrete with brown grass on it. So stay away and play elsewhere for less money and better condition.
Super Slow Pace Of Play (Zero Marshals)
Unfortunately, they allowed several twosomes to tee off which caused a lot of congestion.
We gave up after 12 holes, as the round already exceeded 6 hours and there were 3 to 4 groups on every hole. We didn't run into a single Marshal, even when we drove passed hole 13 to 18.
The 6th hole is under construction and is basically unplayable until the sod is eventually ready.
The staff was very friendly.
No amenities and a lot of staff attitude
Multiple holes under repair, including an entire green, no warning prior to booking or even the round. Beverage carts had no water, Gatorade or sandwiches…odd layout, you have to lug your bags 300 yards to the carts from the parking lot.
Good course. Nice value. Excellent service. The greens need some work though
Good course. Good value. Excellent service. Greens need work on condition and maintaining a consistent speed from hole to hole
Best finish for November
Enjoyed a nicely paced round on the well maintained Legends! This is a great tough course and could not believe November golf could be so good.
They booked us on the wrong course
Amazing course and in great condition. Kaneff is mostly great in managing their courses but just not at Lionhead. I booked for Masters to get a new course under my belt but they put me on Legends. I even showed them my booking receipt and they still said I was booked on the other course. Baffling.
Pace of plays here was very slow. Twilight times has every business guy leaving work at 3pm and racing to get in front of the next guy only to have awkward waits for the next five hours on the tee boxes. This is a high level course so don’t need book it with executive course timed gaps between tee offs.
I will return because I love golf. But I dread the way this course is handled.
Legends challengers your skills for sure
Tough course very challenging...only downside is that pace of play is very slow on weekends
A Beast !!
Outstanding layout. Bring your A game or it will be a long day.
Course that will exhaust you, but at the same time will excite you if you play well. Broke 80 on this course in 2017.shot 79!!
Need all the clubs in the bag !!
Everyone has to play this at one point.
Great experience.
Only negative thing I would mention is the customer service has gone down the toilet.
Just not very good greeting you and before you start the round.
Great friendly service in the restaurant.
Would recommend to everyone !!
A quality course testing your skill
The Legend course is pretty demanding and requires every bit of your skill to conquer it. However, the scenery can help to alleviate your frustration if any during your play. The course is well maintained except the aeration done on the green and the staff did alert us several days before the play to avoid any bad feelings. There are falling leaves around at this time of the season but the staff is busy blowing them away which we appreciate very much. The club house personnel are very polite and friendly and the starter is really humorous making the mood before tee off very relaxing. This is a plus for any golf course.
Thanks, will send this to our Greenskeeper.
Yes! 2023! Incredible!
Probably the greens need work as you seem to have played 7 years in the future and the grass is still trying to catch up. What are the new drivers like in 2023?
