Lionhead Golf and Country Club - Legends

About
The Legends Course at Lionhead Golf & Country Club has been ranked before as one of the toughest golf courses in North America and the club boasts that it is the toughest in Canada. Lionhead Golf & Country Club also offers another, less demanding 18-hole course that is equally entertaining, the Masters. Legends features numerous challenges including vast lakes, cavernous sand bunkers, and tall fescue. The layout winds through a rugged portion of the Credit River Valley with steeply rolling terrain and wooded ravines, providing the golf course with elevated, undulating greens. The eighth is a notable hole, both for its beautiful scenery and its difficulty level. It is a long par 3 over a pond filled with tall bulrushes.

Not the course I remember
Haven’t golfed here in several years and was somewhat disappointed. Legends is not of the calibre I remember. Maybe because I have golfed many other nice courses since then. Earlier this week at Peninsula Lakes and recently at the Ridge at Manitou. Just my POV. However, the staff is super friendly and helpful and the course is very conveniently located for me. Oh yeah, and the carts need updating. Darn thing was hard to steer and brakes super sensitive. All in all for the price it was ok. The Masters is probably a better track for me next time.
Thank you!
Overpriced and gimmicky setup
The course doesn't represent good value. \the tee boxes were in terrible shape plus the grass was long on most. I have played many courses in better shape and at cheaper rates.
There are numerous holes with forced layups including a par 5 off the tee. Leaves you with a very long second shot
My wife played with me and the tees for women were not fair. One par 3 was 105 yards, fronted by tall reeds, couldn't see the flag or green. .How fair is that?
Wasn't a scenic course either. Hard to say anything good about it.
Will send to Vesco our Superintendent, thanks for the feedback
Growing In
Ive played this course many times but not in a couple of years. It’s really growing and and getting quite tight. It’s a tough track so you better bring your A game.
Yes it is a battle with Mother Nature , thanks!
Thanks Danny!
Very challenging
Course very confusing first time playing. Signage sometimes confusing. A lot of blind shots and carry’s unsure of distance. You lose a lot of balls because unsure where it rolls after it goes over hills. Staff very friendly.
We will work on the signage! Thanks
championship quality course
This golf course is not for the average golfer, the course is extremely challenging.
A gem if you stay on the fairways, go astray and a double bogey is almost guaranteed!
Course is in fantastic shape, and allows you to roll the dice on risk reward pin locations.
You will remember several holes as it is not a cookie cutter style layout.
Enjoy the views and let em rip!
Thank you
A Besst
Legends course is outstanding.
Not for the average player.
You better hit the driver straight or it will be a really long frustrating day.
Course immaculate. Greens outstanding.
Played the blues today. The average golfer should play the whites . Love the challenge. You need every club in the bag to break 90.
Number 10 is by far the toughest par 4 you will ever play. Course is a great test.
If you want a easier test play the Masters course . Look for better deals to play this course on Golf now.
Thanks Joe!
Welcome Home
I was a member here for 15 years and had not been back in a couple. So nice to see the speed of the greens are up again. New challenges here. Fewer bunkers for sure, but much more tall grass if you stray too far from your targets.
You need to stay focused at all times. I even encountered of few of those nasty stinging nettles.
I've missed you old pal.
Thanks and welcome back!
Thanks
Challenging
Very challenging course. The par 4's can almost feel like a par 5 with the hazards in place. Course is in great shape.
Only issue was that the beverage cart was no where to be seen and they close the restaurant very early. Even when open, is hard to find staff to serve you. This needs to improve.
Thanks!
Deceived
Course was in very poor condition, wet all over and the fairway felt like sponge.
When we paid to check in, the staffs did not mention the course was in poor condition and cart path only, no one told us anything not even the starter, they should have told us when we checked in so that we could decide whether we still want to play or not
We were only told carts must go on the paths by one of the Marshalls after we played the first hole or they will take the cart keys away, so we felt we were being cheated.
Golfers pace was very slow because of cart path only, we need to wait several minutes at almost every hole, some players skipped holes to have faster pace, golfers behind us kept pushing us and acted very rudely, they hit their balls very close to us but we have no space to move forward.
We felt so disappointed and frustrated to play on this course in such poor condition, we do have the feeling of being deceived.
thanks for the feedback, I know Brampton received a massive amount of rain in a short period of time. We will let the proshop know your feedback
Great day
Course was in excellent shape. Legends course from blue tees is a great challenge. Greens were the best I played all year.
Thanks!
Tough course with long carries
Ball placement is critical on this corse and course knowledge would be highly beneficial as a number of shots were blind. The carries are long for someone playing from the red tees. It is definitely one of the most challenging courses and is well maintained.
Thanks for the feedback and we agree. Some tough shots out on the Legends course if you don't know the course
Lionhead Legends: Always a challenge.
I have played this course numerous times and this was the first time this year. Course conditions are outstanding. Best in years. The course plays tough but fair. A really good test of golf which will make you use every club in your bag. One of my favorite courses in the Greater Toronto Area.
Thanks that is great, will pass along to the team!
My Golf Now reservation got canceled as I am driving to the golf cource
Nothing good to say since my reservation got cancelled...systen issue...even though I had an email confirmation for my tee time. ...it ruined my golf day.
That is very strange. email sales@kaneffgolf.com and they will look into this!

Hello - do you have your reservation number here? I work with GolfNow and want to see what happened and ideally get you taken care of. Thanks for letting us know about the issue.

Painting the cups while playing
Really, they needed to use white enamel paint to paint the cups while play was going on. Had paint on my glove, hand, ball and pants. Just a big mess. Don't go here, its amateur hour.
We have stopped painting the cups based on our customer feedback. It is quite labour intensive also.
Considering all the rain lately, the course is in good shape. The greens were really consistent and running true.
Yes it has been tough with the weather this year. Thanks!
Thanks we have changed our pricing and it is now $70 to $99, thanks for the feedback
