Lionhead Golf and Country Club - Masters

About
The Masters Course at Lionhead Golf & Country Club is ideal for golfers who don't feel they are prepared to take on the demanding Legends Course at the club, which has been ranked as one of the toughest courses in North America. The Masters layout is similar to golf courses in Florida, with unique bunkers and scenic ponds that meld perfectly with the rolling hills and wetlands that dot the scenic landscape. Its more traditional layout is considered the kinder and gentler of the two golf courses at Lionhead Golf & Country Club, but there are still a fair amount of challenges. The Masters course requires several long carries over water, particularly on the 16th. This infamous par 5 features a green surrounded by water.

3HR Front 9 & 2HR Back Nine
We recently played this course on a busy Saturday, the pace of play on both tracks was terrible. We started our round slightly behind schedule and proceeded to play the front 9 on the masters course at a pace of 20mins per hole. We notified the clubhouse who sent out a marshal to resolve the issue however he did not! The group ahead of us had a 1.5-2 hole gap from the group ahead of them and the marshal did not tell them to skip ahead a hole to resolve the congestion.
We finally took matters into our own hands and asked the slow group ahead of us to let us play through on 10. We then proceeded to play the back 9 in only 2 hours when the front nine took 3 hours to play.
The marshal on this course should be fired as he is not capable of doing his job correctly to resolve pace of play for all golfers on the course.
Abysmal signage.
The signage to get to the tee boxes is abysmal. ,No idea where you're supposed to go. Majority of the markings on the cart path have worn off. Not what you'd expect from a higher end course such as Lionhead.
Disappointed
We were excited to try a new course since we didn’t get a tee time at our home course but we won’t be going back to Lionhead- Masters. The course conditions (greens, fairway, rough, bunkers- everything) were sub par. I was very surprised given the price we paid. If you have never played here before the lack of signage is shocking. The other twosome playing with us were equally as confused so I know it was not just us. We even had trouble getting back to the clubhouse after 18!
The washrooms at the turn were filthy. When we arrived in the morning we asked about the snack bar/restaurant and were told it was not open - but it was.
Overall, it was a frustrating experience.
Masters
played today with four friends not bad course , rough shape if you ask me and slow play . Made you pay for range balls kinda weird if you ask me for thAt kind of money . Some nice holes need more maintence , beautiful island hole just looks run down to bad
Hole cup makes us crazy
I am going to say a terrible memory on that day play. I made second on the green at par 4 hole but I can't finish to par or boggy even double boggy. This wasn't happened only that hole but also the others. I believe 100 percent of hole at this Master course was designed the hole cup on the edge toward down break then I can't make stop my ball. Not only me but also my group members too. I have played many times this course and legend as well but this kind of experience was first. I invited my friends but they went back with bad feelings when we finished 18 hole. I strongly recommend the trained people has to decide the location for the hole cup so far. Thanks!
Excellent day on the course
Perfect day on the course great conditions and excellent amenities
First Time here
Tidy course with some interesting holes. We were a 2 ball off scratch and 7 handicap and we were paired with 2 singles off 18 and 20 something. The guys were helpful as they had played before but some of the holes a bit strange off the back tees.
Greens OK except one or two of the par 3's which had lots of pitch marks and scuff marks.
Bar food and staff were great before and after our round - nice day out at a sensible price.
Thanks
