Peninsula Lakes Golf Club - Hillside
About
The Hillside Course is one of three nine-hole courses at Peninsula Lakes Golf Club. It is similar to the original course at the club, the Quarry, in that water comes into play on four holes. This golf course, however, uses the many lakes scattered throughout its landscape in creative ways to provide a unique set of challenges. There are also strategically placed bunkers bordering the fairways and greens. The golf course starts out with the shortest par-4 at Peninsula Lakes Golf Club but bites back with a tricky par 3. The fourth and fifth holes are built between two lakes, making them particularly scenic but they also demand hitting straight.

Fantastic
This course is one of the regions gems. Always in great condition, great staff and such awesome views. If your in the region it’s definitely a must play
Excellent shape considering considering the weather this spring. Best Niagara course for cart path only play!
spring golf
I was worried going in. The course was already wet from spring rains and one of the nines and range closed. Yesterday's downpour gave me some anxiety, other nearby courses closed for the day. No problem, Orchard and Hillside were in great shape. Some wet areas but very manageable. Not much roll on the drives but greens at 100% albeit a little slow. Bunkers wet but playable. I walked rather than participating in cart-path-only restriction. This is a hard walking course and if you don't have the legs for the hills, choose to ride. Got off early, completed in under four hours. Best round so far this year
Bittersweet Visit
Every hole on this course is picturesque. The course is challenging yet forgiving. Overall for the course 10/10.
The marshals on the other hand were horrible. The starter didn’t bother to tell us it was cart path only, course conditions didn’t lead us to believe it should have been cart path only, until a different marshal came over yelling and being blatantly rude to not only our group but the group behind us. After that lovely incident, they followed us around for the next 6 holes or so, which always makes you feel welcomed. They did absolutely nothing to assist the pace of play. Every tee block was backed up, sometimes with multiple groups. Closing in on 6 hours for 18 holes is simply unacceptable.
All that aside, the course itself is a must for all.
one of the best courses in the area.Staff very helpful.
Penisula Lakes
My experience with this course was spoiled by the rain that occurred Friday nigjt into Saturday morning.
Fairways were soggy, casual water in some spots. Cart path only slowed pase of play. Instead of searching for our shots amongst the leaves, (bys this course had little to none ) we were searching for our shots because of plugged balls in the fairways.
Putting greens were surprisingly in fabulous shape-but getting there was the spoiler.
Beautiful looking course, fair and challenging-or was that the soggy fairways?
Would like to play this course again in much dryer conditions. But hey, we were still playing in October in southern Ontario. Just a note the quarry couse was not in play, so all groups that showed up played hilside and the the orchard course-waited on every tee box. But I suppose all the groups ahead of is faced the same issues.
I would play this course again But only when a few days of dry weather procedes your round. I have no doubt this course would be an absolute blast to play!!
Pure excellence
Outstanding course. Beautiful layout, excellent staff, and the course is in pristine condition.
A jewel in Niagara......come play!!
Won't Be Back!
Had an UnderPar deal for this course. Booked a tee time for 11:20 and we were sent off at 11:00 as a twosome. Finished 18 holes by 2:00, as we had been told we could get our 3rd nine in if we got done by 2:00, as men's league was starting. When we asked if we could play the 3rd of the 3 nines, we were told no as they had to close it for men's league shot gun start at 5...we could have been done the nine well before 5 if we had been a foursome! The pro shop fellow and the manager then told us that they had the other 2 nines booked with tee times until 4 o'clock so we couldn't play them either. Since we told our wives we would likely play 27 holes, they had taken the car shopping in Niagara. So we had a beer on the patio and watched the Quarry 9 first tee...ABSOLUTELY NO ONE teed off during the whole 30 plus minutes we took to drink our beer!! The customer service at this course has never been very friendly, but if they're not going to honour the 3rd nine of the UnderPar deal, then DON'T OFFER IT!!! Disgusted and won't be back!!
Good as ever
What can I say. Based on past experience I expected great service and excellent condition. My expectations were meant and then some.
A must play
The course is always in great shape and the pace of play was excellent.
Wonderful outing
Layout is very enjoyable but the Par 3's are really challenging with strong headwinds. Hillside was great and overall fairways and greens are in good shape. Tee boxes could use some attention.
Land O Lakes indeed!
I was invited by a friend who is a member and I really was comped.
That said, it was a good test with a variety of holes. Great design; great day; thanks.
2nd round of boys weekend in Niagara
course was in great condition, fairways and greens mint. Bunkers ok heaver sand than other places. Pace was good just over 4hrs for a Saturday morning round.
5 hour round
I had to call the front desk on the 2nd hole, knowing the 4some in front would be slow...I was right. They should have let us through (3 of us), and even after we had a 4th join us, we were still waiting on every single hole up to 10 min. On hole 10..we waited 15 min. to tee off...And that teed all of us off. I thought with spending over $ 120 for 2 we would have a great time, but the pace was so horrible, we didn't enjoy it as much as we should have. The course itself is beautiful & kept in fantastic shape.
good day on nice course
penn lakes nice course with beautiful views. Course was in great shape.
