Roy Kizer Golf Course
About
This is a 36-hole city-owned operation that features one of Austin's best muni tracks, the Roy Kizer Golf Course, which complements the 1970s Jimmy Clay layout.
Austin's old water treatment facility was transformed by Randy Russell, who had more than 80 acres of lakes and marshland at his disposal when he laid out the 200-acre site. Russell's links-style design is flat, burdened by the wind, and loaded with bunkers. The toughest par is No. 11, which rolls 468 yards into the wind and is shamefully listed as a par 4. Take your bogey on No. 11.

This is Andy. He's in sales and is somehow always 'working' when we're playing golf. He can almost never be tagged on a Facebook golf course check-in during a weekday. He's 'working.' So here's proof that he was out with us playing golf yet again. :) Photo submitted by GordonATX on 09/08/2018

Fantastic
Course in fantastic shape, staff super and pace was good, highly recommended!
Waited every shot, pace of play ridiculous. As usual course does not care
Course in great shape, pace sucked
Course in great shape, greens kind of slow but they at least rolled good. Pace sucked and even started 20 minutes late, no marshal on course to do nothing about the pace either.
Fun layout
Played here a few times and even with dormant Bermuda it’s a fun round. Decent pace for Xmas week too!
Classic course with a rude flair
Every time I went into the clubhouse I felt like I was inconveniencing the staff. They had their own conversation going and finished it before helping myself and the two other people trying to pay for their rounds. The course was nice but on the easier side of the scale. For long hitters, the course is on the shorter side of the spectrum.
Great course/needs better booking accuracy
Favorite course in Austin 5 stars for the course...3 stars for the booking process. I called a week prior to book for 12pm thurs dec 3rd and they confirmed with me over the phone. When I got there they said they had nothing for me at 12pm and then all the sudden out of the blue they said “o Ross Whitton at 12:33?”. Of course I’m not going to say no but was kinda annoying I went through all that time to book over them phone for nothing. Great course..booking process needs to be worked on.
Course in good shape, slow greens
Course was fun and in good shape, only issues were slow greens but the speed was consistent and tee boxes need to be cut.
Two busy courses
I think that having a starter at the 1st tee would be a huge help.
Super duper
Course in fantastic shape, pace of play good, definitely recommended
