Roy Kizer Golf Course

Out here as a single on a slow rainy day, course is wide open, get sent out behind a walking four-some. Wait on behind them on every shot, get to the par 3 4th, they tee off and take off as soon as I walk up to the tee box. Marshal at the tee box says nothing. Tired of watching them play horrible golf, no one hit the green, 2 were in the woods, digging out their balls, I skip the hole. Course couldn’t be more wide open.... until the 10th. Out of nowhere, 2 jokers pull up to the 10th, haven’t seen anyone in front of me for the past 3 holes, like no one. I go to the parking lot, then back to the tee, still waiting for these guys. Wave down the marshal at the 11, ask him what’s up, where’s they come from, he talks to them, tells me they teed off 40 minutes before me and just stopped in the clubhouse for something (like a leisurely lunch?) does nothing. Course wide open in front of them, no golfers in sight. I wait on every tee box and on every approach shot on the back nine for these guys to dig their balls out of the water, tress, etc. never see the marshal again. I shot 78, they shot prob 120 if they were keeping score.. To top it off, the amateurs flipped me off in the parking lot. Keeping it classy, Kizer.

The course was in good condition, very hot, but it’s Texas in August; however, not having drinking water available on the course was difficult. Plan accordingly.

Roy Kizer was in great condition and everyone was playing fast. We started at about 5pm (sun goes down at 8:30) as a foursome and we finished all 18 comfortably! It’s a great course layout and is well maintained (even bunkers probably by the staff) during the pandemic.

I love playing Roy Kizer. Today was a perfect day for Kizer - overcast skies and mild wind. I always look forward to playing Kizer and couldn’t have asked for more today.

Went to the course to find I owed $14 for a cart. I thought my tee time at Golfnow included the cart fee. What gives?

Otherwise, the round was fine and course conditions good although the greens needed to be mown closer.

Fairways and tee boxes above average.

I went out last Friday and the course is in great shape. I walked the course, and the pace of play was perfect and the grass was green everywhere. Great to get back out again.

Course in great condition. Perfect weather. Good links style course with plenty of water and sand hazards but playable enough for beginners.

Was so windy made some of the holes longer. Always like a challenge!
