About
This is a 36-hole city-owned operation that features one of Austin's best muni tracks, the Roy Kizer Golf Course, which complements the 1970s Jimmy Clay layout.
Austin's old water treatment facility was transformed by Randy Russell, who had more than 80 acres of lakes and marshland at his disposal when he laid out the 200-acre site. Russell's links-style design is flat, burdened by the wind, and loaded with bunkers. The toughest par is No. 11, which rolls 468 yards into the wind and is shamefully listed as a par 4. Take your bogey on No. 11.

Great condition and fast play!
Roy Kizer was in great condition and everyone was playing fast. We started at about 5pm (sun goes down at 8:30) as a foursome and we finished all 18 comfortably! It’s a great course layout and is well maintained (even bunkers probably by the staff) during the pandemic.
Kizer - An Austin Gem
I love playing Roy Kizer. Today was a perfect day for Kizer - overcast skies and mild wind. I always look forward to playing Kizer and couldn’t have asked for more today.
Nice Course
Good layout for walking. Bunkers could use some work. Otherwise, good shape and a few challenges.

Surprise Charges
Went to the course to find I owed $14 for a cart. I thought my tee time at Golfnow included the cart fee. What gives?
Otherwise, the round was fine and course conditions good although the greens needed to be mown closer.
Fairways and tee boxes above average.
Great course post quarantine
I went out last Friday and the course is in great shape. I walked the course, and the pace of play was perfect and the grass was green everywhere. Great to get back out again.
Great day on Kizer.
Course in great condition. Perfect weather. Good links style course with plenty of water and sand hazards but playable enough for beginners.
Cold and Windy
Was so windy made some of the holes longer. Always like a challenge!
Course was ok. Some interesting holes. Some very wet holes, sprinkler malfunctions. Greens were rough.
Renovation green .now bad condition?
2-3 weeks after open course.
Why not inform to golfers? Present conditions.
Great course
Played here on 10/18, had a great time. Challenging course but fair. Greens are not super fast but fairly true.
For the money, it’s definitely worth it. Even at $45, it’s worth it.
