About
Royal Ontario Golf Club sprawls across gentle hillsides blanketed in mature trees and thick fescue. Formerly a stable, the course features large meadows and dense groves of trees that frame the fairways and greens. The layout has a more traditional, links design that features occasional water hazards, most notably on the par-5 ninth and 18th holes that share a large lake, but the tree-covered hills are the true challenge of the golf course. Although there are many difficult elements on this course, five sets of tees make it accessible for players of all skill levels. Royal Ontario Golf Club is often compared to the Masters Course at Lionhead Golf & Country Club.

Great deal but slow
Great deal on golf now but round was slow. Course was in good shape, very busy. Some quirky holes but overall a good track. Bring lots of balls!
Fast Greens and Narrow Fairways!
The course was playing very short and easy until you got around the greens. If you went long you were dead. If you were above the hole, look out! but a nice challenge for the good to great player who can hit the ball to a target. Great conditioned greens!

I thought the course was amazing considering it had just rained less than an hour before. My brother and I had a great time. I would definitely play this course again. It was worth the money.

About my golf game
Great day for golf, Friends and weather were good.
Great deal. Very playable course.
Played early afternoon. Some construction being done on the course, but nothing too distruptive. I find this track gives you a good chance for par on every hole, much unlike Lionsheads. $130 for the course is too steap as well, wait for a deal. GPS's in the cart would be nice too!
Great course, stop overbooking Kaneff and Golfnow.
The course itself was in really nice shape, one of the best I've played this year. The greens played true. We played Lionhead a few weeks ago and we encountered the exact same problem at this Kaneff property, a BACKLOG of brutal players!! I know golf is a business and everyone wants to make money, but either they need to spread out the times by at least 5-8 minutes more or figure a better way of having marshalls deal with players that hit 9-10 balls a hole. To those of you that are newer to golf, have some etiquette and don't play a course that is out of your league. Play on some 'learner' courses until you are good enough so as not to slow others down. I would agree with other reviews that many of the holes need to have better markers and a better description perhaps on the scorecard diagrams in terms of yardages for 'blind' hits. If you have a gps , bring it.

Large greens with changes in elevation. Beautiful day enhanced the play. Course in excellent conditiion.
Enjoyable round, terrible service
I agree with the general consensus about slow rounds here as ours took close to 5 hrs. Conditions were better than average, greens played fast and true. I am not one to complain, but what happened to me is truly incompetent. BOTH cart girls had malfunctioning debit/credit machines. I left my visa with one of the girls as she promised to see me before my round ended and if not, would leave it at the pro shop. After the round, I proceeded to wait for 40 minutes with the staff trying to locate Erin and my visa. Radio didn't work, even text messages. To my dismay, after the debacle and after I finally had my visa returned, there was hardly an apology from the staff. I feel as if i should bill royal ontario for the 407 bill i am going to receive for taking it when the 40 minutes i lost would have been prevented by having a proper working debit/credit machine.

Great course. Still expensive
It's a really nice track and well maintained. However I found it worth I paid on GolfNow but not the full $100 tag through the Kaneff web site. Will try your play again

Good challenge. Nice layout. Very slow pace. Over 5.5 hrs to play. Very crammed plus tourneys.
SLOOOOOOOOOOOO Pace, and why have Marshals?
Very close to a five hour round round on Sunday. The foursome ahead of us ended up about 2 holes behind. We asked the Marshals (2 different ones) if they could go speak with them. The Marshals were looking for golf balls when we came upon each one. So in the back nine we phoned the pro shop, and a Marshal came up to us and told us he spoke with them, but did he follow them to ensure they listened? Apparently not because they were conducting the same antics again. Where it said cart path only, they ignored that rule, and they parked beside the green right next to the hole, not on the sidewalk, they spent forever to look for balls, they took an average of 6 to 7 shots off the tee on almost every hole. The 2 groups behind us said they would never come back. Very bad experience!
Golf should not be stressful game like at work at times, and when you golf it should flow, but not like here you feel like your stuck in rush hour on the 401!
Great shape!
The pro shop and staff were great. We flew around in 4 hours withy no trouble. The course was well maintained as well.
