Legends on the Niagara Golf Course - Battlefield

Staff at the bag drop seemed to be disorganized and disinterested. There is a common bag drop for both courses. The only attendant in sight, when asked what the process was for putting clubs on carts said, "I don't know, I don't look after that course."

Club house staff was friendly as were the beverage cart drivers.

The wind made the day a tough challenge as did the pin placements, but the course and greens were in great shape.

Had a solid round here, slow start but picked up some strokes on the back nine. The course was in great shape. Not a difficult course, wide fairways and large greens.

The Legends Complex of golf courses and practice facilities is excellent. If you are a golfer and come to Niagara Falls area, this is a must play. We played the battlefield course and for early season it was in excellent condition. It was a bit cool and very windy; yet a solid experience. Don't miss this gem. If you are from the Us as we are - your dollar goes a long way. The pro shop is very nice and the food was excellent.

Booked a hot deal for 1:27 pm. Ended up having a meeting and couldn't make the tee time. The staff was very helpful and pushed the time back to 3:00. The course was wet and was cart path only. Otherwise course was in very good shape. Played ok for my first round of the season.

I highly recommend playing this course. From the layout to the condition to the customer service, everything was top notch. I hope to play here , one more time this season before they close.

OK...disclaimer. I got a STUPID good Hot Deal to play this Niagara Parks golf course. On the same property as Ussher's Creek - one of my favourite courses in southern Ontario - Battlefield is a different animal. The course itself is fairly flat with generous driving and landing areas. The bunkers are the thing on Battlefield. Cross bunkers hide landing areas and abound on the fairways and around the greens. I played on a cold windy day in November and the course though wet was in great shape. Good, flat tee boxes (a pet peeve) and greens that putted fast and true made this an enjoyable outing.

Lot's of the oldtimers rave about Whirpool but for me it's well worth the drive up the Niagara river to the other end of town to play Battlefield and Ussher's.

Battlefield course was in great shape and greens rolled pretty true. Weather was unbelievable for a Nov.6 day and looking forward to more golf if course remains open this late in the season.

We played 1st weekend of November. We have played many rounds on Usher's Creek, but this was 1st round on Battlefield. I actually enjoyed Battlefied more, and our group prefers this layout to Usher's. Weather was pefect for early November, and the condions were good...a little soggy, but not swampy. I find the average length is a little long from the white tees, as it was difficult to drive anywhere near the 150 marker on a lot of holes, as our group drives on average 220-245 yards. Course allows you to hit just about every club, which I like. Overall, it was a good day.

Course was in great shape, and for $45 it was a deal. Paired with two walkers, pace of play was still excellent. Wonder about the course rating.... Rated too "easy" from the reds in my view, highly unlikely for us to get to the greens in regulation on most par 4's, and we are two women with indexes 10 or less!

This course is in great condition and a pleasure to play. The scenery and quiet is refreshing.

The Whirlpool has the helicopter and this one has honey bees!

Slow 4 some in front was annoying with 2 open hole in front of them but we still did it in 4 hours.

A mrashall would be a nice touch.

Overall; a great venue.

Played on a damp and very breezy Friday afternoon.

A bit confusing in that club drop off is at starters station/snack bar but have to go up to main building to check in at pro Shop. used to have shuttle from parking lot to clubhouse/starter. Played Battlefield course. Tee off was right on time. Fairways, traps (many many!) and overall conditions were excellent after a hot dry summer. The greens were only moderately fast which threw me off as I remembered them from 3 years ago as a lot faster. The greens are huge with many false fronts so you have to land on the green and not the fringe. Because of the slower speed I personally over read the breaks and took a while to adjust. Played from the whites which is challenging for 71 year olds but doable - just relax and play for position! "Bogey is the new par!"

It is a wonderful course and facility and the price is right for locals.

This is a big scenic course with big greens, many protected by sand traps and/ or water. The greens are generally very well maintained. 2-putting (or better) all 18 holes is a fun challenge (if you like putting).

Love playing Legends and yesterday Battlefield was in great shape. Course Marshall`s kept the play moving very well; never waited more than 2 minutes at any hole! Mike, Curtis and Corbin are always great to work with along with all the other staff at the course...highly recommend this course!

From the classy Pro Shop the smartly laid out facilities, this course is not only a joy to play but just a great place to come to. Manicured well and kept in great condition, I highly recommend it to others looking for a comfortable round in a great part of the province.

Battlefields back 9 superb, if 2nd/3rd shot (par 5)into 11th doesn't get your pulse racing you are in the wrong game.
