Legends on the Niagara Golf Course - Battlefield

Played here as a follow up round to Grand Niagara; not really fair to compare the two but suffice to say both are well bunkered. Next time I play here I will be sure to have a yardage book as it's tough to judge by eye.

Staff were friendly, starter was efficient at keeping things on schedule; the instant the group ahead left the tee he told us "they're gone, you're up"

Paired up with two younger guys from Burlington, they played a set of tees back but the flow worked well. Fortunately the group ahead was playing a scramble so after two or three holes we fell into a good pace where you could hit when ready.

Fairways were quite soft after the rain, but the bunkers were very firm. You almost didn't need a rake as you weren't leaving footprints. Front nine greens were very bumpy, but this course gets a lot of play and we were in the afternoon so I guess that's to be expected.

The course is fairly open, a few holes with water hazards, but mostly bunkering is the main challenge. Well, bunkering and wind.

All in all an enjoyable round; just make sure you have a yardage book otherwise you might find yourself in some bunkers that you thought for sure weren't in play.

Enjoyed the course. Long from the blue tee and quit a challenge. Requires you to use e ery club in your bag. Staff was extremely friendly. Would definitely play here again.

This was the second time I have played this course. Very impressed with the course conditions and pace of play. Would strongly recommend you check out these two great courses at Legends!!

Great shape , fast greens, pleasure to play for the $

Course was in good condition. Tournament play (ahead of our tee time) was poorly managed. Too few staff to assist. No ranger to assist place of play (almost 5 1/2 hours). Cart died after 13 holes. Over-all a disappointment.

This was the first time playing any Niagara golf course. I will definitely be back to explore the other courses in the area.

What really impressed me of this course was the condition ... pristine!!! The tee blocks were immaculate and you would be hard pressed to find many divots in the fairways.

If you are one of those golfers who sometimes plays blues or whites, I would play the whites unless you warmed up before the round and felt confident on the range.

Lastly, consider playing an extra club on some of the greens. You really don't notices some of the elevation until you look back at the fairway.

I had not played here for several years and had forgotten what a great layout and challenge this course offered. Will definitely return for another round very soon - I have score to settle with this course.

We played both battlefield and ushers Creek on the same day. 36 holes the pace of play was incredibl e. No wait time . The cost to play the additional 18 was to reasonable too pass up. The course conditions what can I say were the best I have ever played in the Niagara region. I would definitely go back again

The greens are great and challenging because they are very fast, large and with many undulations. the fairways are wide and not too long. There are many sand traps protecting the greens.

Great shape with friendly staff

The green fees for this course are too high for what you get. There have not been any marshals for years so if the pace gets slow, you are stuck. The cart paths are horrendous. They have been in need of repair for years but nothing ever seems to get done to them. It's a fun course to play but not for the price being charged.

Course is a beautiful layout... However, greens had just recently been aerated and sanded... Made for terrible putting conditions....

Had an awesome time at the course, the greens had recently been aerated and top dressed with sand, this did not bother us one bit. I look forward to another opportunity to play thus course.

Great day on the course. It was in great shape and there was hardly anyone there to take advantage of that.

Greens are not easy. No gimmes. I enjoyed the course. As a single golfer joining another group, I did not really like that the tee off time given didn't actually work. It worked out because I was early and joined another group otherwise I would have had to play by myself behind numerous threesomes. However, worth the drive!

Enjoyable course however we quit after 16 holes (at the 5 hour mark) as there were 3 groups on the tee for the 17th hole. It would have been a 6 hour round. The round was excruciatingly slow right from the start. There was no Marshal seen throughout the day. It's very unfortunate as the pace of play affected the rhythm of the game and our opinion of the course.

Staff was friendly, starter was able to let us play early, greatly appreciated because we had two groups. Tee box, fairways and greens were in great conditions. Much better than Royal Niagara, no geese droppings in any of the holes. You can't go wrong with a good deal in this course. we always play it at least once a year. Great 19th hole, overlooking the 9th and 18th holes of Battlefield.

Battlefield is definitely my favourite course of the two. It was a gorgeous day and the course was in immaculate condition. A little slow due to a foursome a couple groups in front of us. Only issue with the whole day would have been nice to see a ranger out there given the fact that the course was wide open in front of the slow foursome. Other than that it was a great day with great friends.

Beautifully laid out, nicely maintained. Golf course is challenging but fairly golfer friendly. Lots of.nicely designed holes. Must be played strategically to score well due to the plethora of bunkers. That said, it plays well to intermediate skill levels as well. Thoroughly enjoyed playing this course and look forward to playing it again in the future.

Just a beautiful course with lots of challenge while forgiving at the same time. In fantastic overall condition with greens that run true..and fast! Highly recommended.
