Legends on the Niagara Golf Course - Battlefield

I'm not a great golfer but this course was amazing and very enjoyable. Well maintained. Beautiful. I'll definitely be back!

Allowed to tee off an hour before scheduled start time, even though I had an internet rate.

Caught up to Mike on #3. Good player, enjoyed playing with.

Usshers met my expectations but think that I enjoy Battlefield better. (conditions)

Warm but extremely windy for Oct 12. 40-50 km winds
Course played very long.

Greens were fantastic. Best we have played all year, probably fastest also

Nice sunny day but windy. Helped sometimes but like a wall other times. Course was in usual great shape. Greens were running, what I thought to be, fast. I prefer the Battlefield course as it is a little more challenging with great views of the club house on 9 & 18. Starter very amenable to letting us off a little early. Always a pleasure to play either of the two courses.

Exactly what you'd expect from your government; no service and minimal capital investment. At least the government was smart enough not to design the course themselves. It was like almost no effort was being made to keep the course up; you'd think the people running the place had said, sure we'll keep the place open and if anyone wants to play we'll let them but we're not going to waste any more money maintaining the course at this time of year.

Having played the course (and it's sister Battlefield) many times, I brought along a friend who had not played the course before. He loved it! I heard, "feels like we have the course to ourselves" especially on the front nine that winds along the long driveway to the clubhouse. The greens were quick, but not ridiculous, the fairways well trimmed with a nice 2-3' edge before the rough - visually pleasing as well as provided me with good fortune once or twice. I noticed the bunkers were in great shape and well groomed. I would have preferred not to try them so often, but they were fair. Wild turkeys, deer, blue heron, turtles and a coyote made our day more memorable - most definitely will return (again!)

Usshers Creek is a Great Course, with a Great lay-out.
As a 2-some, we played in less than 3 Hours....
Would play this Course anytime, especially in the Fall, BEFORE the Leaves come down.

Play slow almost 6 hours to play group behind us twice hit balls over are head never seen a marshal all day so disappoint it

Great course, rain hit but that happens. Green were still fast and the fairways were in great shape.

This course was recommended by friends for many years and finally the opportunity permitted itself to play it for the first time yesterday, and thankfully my entire foursome was so impressed that we plan to make a regular Niagara golf destination.
The course was picturesque, the pace was perfect, and conditions were exceptional. Holes and fairways are are spaced generously apart from one another, which is nice to enjoy. No highway noise, trains going by every now and then and no choppers going overhead also made you feel that you are really in the middle of nowhere!
Only negative that I have to comment on, is the distance from the parking lot to the pro-shop, now that we know we probably would have decided to have one of the golfers bring the cart to the parking lot to pick up the other partner.

We had a 1:30 p.m. tee time Sept 17th on Battlefield and played the course with my lady friend. Beautiful warm sunny weather and we played as a twosome with no issues on our pace of play. All staff were very pleasant. The course overall was in very nice condition and the greens were firm and very fast throughout. it took us at least a couple of holes to adjust. Our afternoon was very enjoyable.
The shortest tees are 5500 yards ( red ) and for most senior ladies that is going to be a quite challenging. Whites then jump to 6300 yards and for many senior men, that distance can be difficult.
Just commenting in regards to golf demographics with the boomer generation. We believe that some shorter tee options i.e. 5100 forward tees and a red/ white blend would be very well received.

First time and it rained so much a day prior that it was cart path only. The greens are amazing in that they are super fast. Very tricky to get the correct speed ... but fun nevertheless.
I enjoyed the course as it is pretty. not too easy, challenging for me from the Whites.
I certainly would / will return.

I booked Legends on the Niagara - Ushers Creek for a 2:30pm tee time on Friday as I had guests coming in from Michigan and they could not get there any sooner. Even with slow play we should have had plenty of time to finish before it got dark. The starter rushed us to get on the tee by 2:30 (which we did) and by the second hole there was a two group wait.
By the 9th hole there were three groups waiting ahead of us. While waiting I called the clubhouse and I told them the pace of play was ridicules and asked them to look into getting the problem sorted out. For the most part I felt they could care less about my complaint and at the turn they had the audacity to say the pace of play was fine. 2 hours 45 minutes for 9 hours and they thought that was acceptable. It ended up taking us 5 hours and 15 minutes and we had to play the last hole in the dark. I understand it’s a public course and on a busy day play can be slower than you'd like, but on any other course I've played they at least make an attempt to keep the pace of play reasonable. The course itself was in poor shape, numerous unrepaired ball marks on the greens, several of the cups were mangled - just a real disappointment especially since I paid what I felt was a premium compared to what you would pay at many of the other courses in the area. There are many beautiful, well priced golf courses in Niagara to play with staff that are keen to providing a great customer experience. After what I experienced last Friday I would say Legends on the Niagara is not one of those courses.

It was raining and a bit windy when we played, so this review applies to those conditions.

I like interesting, visually appealing courses in great condition and Ussher's Creek didn't quite measure up. The layout of the front 9 had some interest and was above average, but was by no means spectacular as some have said. Good condition considering the rain, but I don't know why they let us play, and the course was packed! The bunkers were filled with water, there was standing water on most fairways and, as could be expected, bumpy greens and hacked up fairways and tee boxes. I expect that normally it's in good shape, but not with a full course in the pouring rain.

The views of Goldenrod weeds in every direction also disappointed.

We played this course for the first time and thoroughly enjoyed it. It was quiet and most of the 18 holes we felt as if we had the course to ourselves. Some of the holes are long but not too difficult. We intend to come back another year.

The staff were friendly and the course is in great condition. Greens were large,moderately fast, and very challenging.

Played 18 on Ushers with my husband. Had a great day. Extremely hot but course in pretty good condition. Had a great time.
