Legends on the Niagara Golf Course - Battlefield
About
Legends on the Niagara is home to several entertaining golf courses that appeal to players of all skill levels, This unique complex is home to two championship golf courses, a nine-hole course, and a unique 18-hole putting course. The Battlefield Course is one of the 18-hole, championship courses, so named because of the facility's location on the hallowed grounds of the legendary Battle of Chippewa during the War of 1812. The layout features an impressive man-made lake that spans nearly 20 acres and comes into play on at least four holes. The 13th hole is particularly notable for its spectacular view of Niagara Falls in the distance.

Great value for 45 from Golfnow
Played as 3 with a single hooking up with us. Fast pace with no body pushing us. The day we played the course was not overly busy. Excellent facilities.
High end course a steal for $25!
High end course for $25 was a steal! Even $50-75 would be excellent value, easily a $100+ type course. Only criticism would be an over aggressive watering regime. Non watered areas were seasonally browned, but fairways were wet and in many areas quite soggy - as if it had rained all week (the last few days have been sunny).
Very well designed layout, as most holes have an appropriate risk reward, and no dumb holes.
Great
Unbelievable layout, and course conditions. Starters were very aloof, provided no instruction as to where to go for a first time player of the course. Had to approach them and ask if we were next on the tee. Very friendly people though, and a great afternoon of golf. 6th and 7th holes will be remembered for a long time.
Course in great shape ! greens rolled nicely.
Great facility we played back to back days, Sat Battlefield, Sun Ushers Creek !
Some dry spots, and some bunkers had hard sand, but overall great shape!
Course was in great shape overall, greens rolled nicely. some dry spots and hard sand in some bunkers. Great track, can be extremely challenging by simply moving back on the tee blocks.
Legends
Course was in great shape. Pace if play was great. Love battlefield holes. Great layout. Bring your bunker game!! There are lots of them on every hole!!! Greens were nice a speedy. Fun to putt. If you're not on the right level they can be very tricky to two putt. Overall excellent course. Great value when booked on Golf Now.
The grass is manicured like a PGA course
Now thats what a golf course should be like. The course was in great shape and the greens were perfect. An experience any golfer would remember. Lots of fun.
Legends Ussher's Creek Golf
This was the 2nd time I've played the course. Loved it the first time and no different the second. Some very challenging holes. Some very picturesque holes as well. Book through GolfNow and save a lot of money. We paid just under $60 with cart. Normal price is $90. The staff are really friendly and accommodating (within reason of course). Put it on your golf bucket list along with Legends Battlefield. You won't be disappointed.
well designed and maintained
great course
well maintained
nice layout
good pace of play
marshals could have been friendlier
Course was in excellent condition.
Smooth greens and lush tight fairways.
Overall course was excellent shape.
Best course in the area.
Staff was very friendley and helpful in providing a great golf experience
Starters of little use
Everything was fine. Confused by the need of three starters. Was 30 mins early for my time but went off late as the groups ahead were paired up 2-somes who wanted to play alone. As a result of splitting the groups I was delayed off the tee.
Fairway bunkers lack sand and need to be treated as ground under repair. Fairways, Tee's and greens were in good shape.
Pace was 4.5 to finish 18, but there were only 3 groups a head so a Marshall could have helped to speed the round up as it was mainly 2-somes on the course. Ended up waiting with the other groups on the tee.
Terrible Service
I think everyone working needs a training session in customer service. We received no greeting upon arrival and waited five minutes in the pro shop for anyone to address us. At that point the starter treated us as though we were an inconvenience to him. The beer girl was non existent. We saw her once and she explained that she was the only one working for two 18 hole courses on a Sunday afternoon in August. She promised to come back when we were on the back 9 however we didn't see her again. Additionally, there was no marshall to speed up the horribly slow pace of play even though there were employees of Legends playing that day. They did nothing to fix the log jam created by one particularly slow group. The course itself is in decent shape. All in all, I have played this course about 50 times since it opened and the customer service has declined terribly. I would hope to see these issues addressed as I would like to return but not under the current conditions.
Legends - Battlefield
We teed off as a 2-some at 10:15 and played in 4 hrs and 15 minutes. There was no one in front or behind us and we played at our own pace. The course was in beautiful shape. I prefer to walk when possible, but this course is much better suited to riding! Great value at $75/person including carts. Fairways are very wide and forgiving. Greens are massive and it's not unusual to have a lot of 50' to 70' putts!
Overpriced for course quality
All the traps need more sand in them. Greens in just average condition. Also Goose turds on any green near water.and not just a couple TONS. Tourist couse expect at least an hour more than normal.
When first opened it WAS one of the best courses in the area. It has slipped quit a bit since then.
One of My Favourite Courses
It's worth the trip when Golf Now has it for $50 tax in. Only problem was the sand bunkers were hard.
excellent course for the money
Played on Holiday Monday. Course was busy but pace of play was excellent. Breakfast and dinner in the clubhouse were great. The 4 of us (2 from New Jersey and 2 from Ontario) would love to get together and play again.
Food for thought
I enjoyed this course all three times I have played it. The staff meet and treat you very well and the food both in the snack house and in the restaurant are excellent. My only suggestion is the course consider another set of tee blocks with a course length of 5700 - 5800 yards. The red or forward tees are a little short at 5500 yards while the whites are definitely too long at 6271 yards for a golfer that is about 210 yards off the tee. Even though this course beats up on me as an older short hitter I will still return at least once a year (two hour drive) to enjoy this great layout.
Great track
Good course, good value, good pace of play
Only issue - no water on course and no cart service showed up until our last hole at 12:00 PM
Aeration without notice
The fairways and Greens were all aerated and we weren't made aware of the fatc before playing.
Some fairways had way too much Goose droppings on them.
Fairways lies were often poor as ball laid in those holes made by the aeration process.
Puts would hop and bounce along the greens.
Will not play that course again this year.
