Great course but trashy golfers
I always enjoy playing Royal Vista due to the course layout, moderately challenging holes and friendly staff. However, I don't think I will be back due to 2 unfortunate incidents not involving the the course itself, but some low class and trashy Korean golfers that this course seems to attract. I'm not racist because I'm Korean as well but some of these golfers need a lesson in proper etiquette and manners. After hitting a perfect drive on hole 1 on the east course and golfer 2 groups ahead drive right to my ball which was 150 yards(absolutely crushed it) from the pin and blatantly hit my ball while we were watching. I was playing a pro v1x and asked him if he hit my ball. He said no, and I asked him to see if it was my ball. Low and behold it was! I had my initials in green color and my writing and I pointed that out to him. He swore up and down and he had the same initials. I told him to he could have my ball since he was pathetic. On the following hole, I hooked one left next to the green which is a par 3 for the following hole. Another group was hitting their approach shot into that green. I asked one of the men if the ball he was playing was him. He denied it and wouldn't let me see the ball in question which is of course, highly suspicious. His buddy then told me my ball was further ahead in a very rude tone of voice. I went ahead and looked for my ball but there were only range balls so he lied to my face. Such trashy golfers do like to play this course so if anyone doesn't want their balls stolen, stay away. Such a shame because the course itself is a beautiful layout and not overly challenging. I won't be coming back anytime soon until these Korean golfers get a clue and some integrity.
Slow play
Very slow play today. Groups in front were not golfers and there were no Marshall’s on the course to push them along or monitor behavior. Twice saw groups park at the edge of the green and at least once drive across a tee box. Just goofing around on the green and tee boxes really slowed play
Nice place to relax and enjoy a sunny day
This is my home course for day because it is very close to home. Been playing here for 20 plus years. It changed owners a few times but maintained decent condition anyway.
Staffs always been nice because I kinda know them all and they know me by first name.
Will come back whenever I can. It’s always worth it
Reasonable place
Course is bit narrow, but fun, trees need trimming.
Would recommend
Located in Diamond Bar/Walnut, this course is a gem. We played during a holiday week so it was very crowded. Managed to finish in over 5 hours. I do enjoy the layout and the shape of the course was good for it being a public course. There are 27 holes. We played the South and East. South is short and very narrow with a lot of ob on both sides so it presented a challenge for me since I'm long and crooked off the tee. The East side was longer and wide which I always take advantage of and like. Weather was perfect and I made 3 birdies shooting 6 over par. Got to spend time with the family from out of town so it was special for me. I would recommend Royal Vista to anyone.
Good to practice
Fast play cause not busy course. Golfnow hotdeal gives me a very good value for a round of golf.
Course is challenging
course has various elevations and greens have various contours and size. Course has 27 holes and can be combine to make 3 challenging 18 holes.
First time
Great value. The greens were fantastic. Fairways were very thin in spots and over watered in others, but generally in good shape. A lot of blind shots, so challenging for the first time at this course. Will certainly play this track again with knowledge.
Veterans Day
First timer here. Booked earliest open tee time on GN (6:56), and we finished at 11:20....being Veterans Day it could have been much worse but we were pleasantly surprised. Fun course. Positives: pace, value, staff, layout, elevations, greens. Cons: bunkers (pure dirt/mud), fairways sparse or muddy in many spots, no cart girl, many tee box seemed unlevel, lots of debris on all fringes around greens (cuttings, clippings, punch debris) All in all fun round and would do it again. Not an easy course for beginners.
No food here!
You would think on prime time weekend play you could get food, think again. No food here big waste of snack shop. If they would hire a couple of Mexican ladies to work burritos, tacos, burgers it would be a hit...Store inside has great prices on all golf stuff.
Not bad
The course is interesting, but it plays slow and right now the grass in the fairways is kind of tight (probably better in the winter). Greens are in nice shape though. If you have 5+ hours to spend playing, it isn’t too bad of a choice for $40 - definitely not worth more than that right now.
Bang for your buck
Really fun course to play. Couldn’t ask for a better value too
Grubby
This course is pretty junky, dirt patches in the fairways and in the rough. Greens are nice, but the rest of the course looks like crap...bunkers have sand that is not the typical sand and of course not maintained whatsoever. Probably never play this hunk of junk again!
Great Value
Staff was friendly and got me off in a hurry. For the price, it was a great course; had a great time. I will be back.
