Slow Pace
Our threesome was started on 10 to avoid league play. This was appreciated by us but the group in front of us held a us up on most holes. Their group had numerous open holes in front of them and did not attempt to speed up their pace or let us play through. In fact, on our 12 hole they had a long conversation with the beverage girl, while we waited , and another with someone at the green. After they finished the hole, the “marshal” drove up to them and had another conversation. When we reached the green the “marshal” stared us down until we had to ask why. He made no attempt to listen to us and seemed annoyed with our complaint of the slow play of the group ahead of us. I have enjoyed playing The Oaks in the past but will not likely go back . Rumours have it that Golf North is going to bulldoze the course to make way for more houses. Shame, but doesn’t surprise me.
Golf north ruins another course
This is used to be a nice course until golf north took it over. Rough was so long and there were so many grass clippings you couldn’t find your ball. Grass that was cut was so uneven you wondered whether or not they actually had a blade in their mowers.
Carts are disgusting....mouldy seats and stalls when you hit the gas pedals. It took us 3 times to find a cart that was even close to useable,
I used to enjoy this course 2-3 times per year but will not return.
Slow play
Had a foursome that were very slow in part because it was cart paths only . It took too many holes before they let us play through. No marshals in sight. 5 hours on a Tuesday is too much
Great golf course.
This course plays much longer than score card indicates. Great layout with many hills and valleys. Very walkable.
The course was very wet and I don’t think anybody should have been allowed on course my 2 brothers couldn’t go more than 9, one is 76 the other 73 and it was a struggle for them to walk it, so I don’t think it was a very good deal today
Beautiful course for early in year... was pretty wet but lots of rain in the day before round, not course fault...
Had a great time and is a course I make sure I play a few times a year
Great coarse shouldn't of been open!!!!
Played here often great coarse great layout, unfortunately this has been a horrible start to the season, extremely wet, almost unplayable,I felt as if I was causing more damage to the coarse by walking and pushing my cart around it, greens were soft and covered with worms, bunkers were unplayable and the tee boxes were saturated with water, every ball plugged on the fairway and it was impossible to find relief from casual water, literally not worth playing it,
Too Wet!
I played the course on Easter Sunday after 2 days of non-stop rain. Because I had already paid and the course was open, I played. Carts were not allowed so we had to walk which made for unpleasant and messy conditions. I do like the course and have played it many times and will play it again when the course is dry. I will say the greens were in great shape! They ran out and were smooth!
Unfortunate!!
For such a nice little course it’s VERY sad that they don’t have a course marshal to manage the EXTREMLY SLOW pace of play!! some of the short holes make for the local ( I once hit it 250) players wait to shank it in the the woods or pond, and hold up the course....
So much for a good last round of the year...
First Time at This Course
Overall condition was good. Greens are well maintained. Fairways are hard as rock; it was like most courses in mid summer.
The course is hilly but walkable. There was a good mix of target golf and grip and rip holes. Overall, I enjoyed the course.
Great layout
played this course 2 days in a row . Totally
over booked ...4 foursomes waiting on one tee ..FIVE /FIVE AND HALF rounds. .
. Also foursome booked a cheaper course and came to this course and they let them play for the same amount as we had to pay more .
NEVER GOING BACK
Good day, easy country drive
Greens and fairways were good, however, most tee boxes were brutal and potentially dangerous. Not from the aerating but from the gravel top dressing they put down after. I have never seen such poor material used; half sand, half rocks. Cleared a spot to hit from and made it safe.
Otherwise, had an excellent day on a nice course.
golf
Green airated in august no good for putting on was not told .
OSG continues to Impress
Hot humid day at Oaks with course filled to capacity.
Most golfers on carts to cope with the heat. Near 5 hour round to be expected under the conditions but marshals on the course doing their best to speed up play. However, did not appreciate marshal coming up behind me when I was preparing to play my approach shot on #16 and telling me to "go ahead."
Course, especially the greens, was in great shape for this time of year especially considering this summer's heat and humidity.
The course used to be much better. Now the course needs lots of maintenance work. Bunker is full of mud and little stone.
Looks to me the new management does want to put in money to keep the course in good shape.
