Cardinal Lakes Golf Club - Heron Course

About
The Heron Course is one of two 18-hole courses at Cardinal Lakes Golf Club. It is the club's newer championship layout, designed to complement the original course, the executive-length Sparrow. It is 6,765 yards from the back tees but it feels as though it is considerably longer since many holes play into the prevailing wind. The golf course combines elements of classic links, parkland, and Carolinian courses. The generous fairways are guarded by bunkers and the large, fast greens are gently contoured and surrounded by trees. Water is a prominent feature throughout, coming into play on all but four holes. The layout saved the most challenging for last with its signature 18th hole, a par 3 with a tricky island green.

Average course. Expensive carts
Fairways: Average
Greens: Good
My main issue is that they charge $24+HST a person for carts. That is ridiculous!. Expensive and more luxurious courses only charge $16.
When you add the cart fee to the green fee, you can get a much better deal elsewhere. If the course was amazing I would consider paying the extra amount. But it's such a basic course - not worth it due to the cart fees.

Greens were the best I have played in 8 years!!!
Fairways were green and watered....
Always doing some work to make this a four star track at 6750 yards....
COST OF A CART IS RIDICULES AND I HAVE NOTED THIS BEFORE and told management since opening.....$54 for a cart with 2...$25 single...STUPID....
COSTS MORE THAN LEGENDS, WHIRLPOOL and GRAND NIAGARA....even if I was to ride today at 35c humidex...none were available until past my tee time...like last round there in July at 44c humidex
Love the course and a nice breeze today....no wind for once
Cheers

Course Review Cardinal Lakes
Course was in great condition, very good price and very long. I love how many par 5's there are. Got a bit turned off the cart rental was just as much as the green fee. I guess they need to make extra money somehow.
I payed as much for the cart as I did for golf. Never again!!!
Cardinal Lakes Heron Course
Greens are perfect. Very smooth. Third time playing this year. Speed has ranged from 11.5 - 13. Bunkers could use more sand. Fairways have a few sparse spots.Good range of holes from easy to very challenging.
Not worth it
Too expensive for a course with no food or beverages and cart fee is crazy.
Never again
Cardinal Lakes - Huron course
First time playing this course. During COVID-19 stage 3 restrictions. Hot dry summer day, felt like 40 + C.
The course was cut short, but in surprisingly good condition based on previous weeks of incredible heat. They must be applying irrigation to keep it this green.
Speaking of greens, they ran fast today, lively on bump and runs also.
Overall very good experience.
I would certainly go again, and they also have another (Par 67) 18 next door (Sparrow).
Complete RIPOFF!!!
80$ for a course with no food or cart person to show up until 11:45.
The 9 ends in the middle of the course.
Played all 18 starving and dehydrated because the cart person showed up on the 17th hole
There was no staff at all so i will definitely never go there or recommend this place
Not what it use to be
Not a terrible course but no cart girl till 14th hole and the round of golf was way too much for the course I’m sorry legends is cheaper and nicer for the money. I love to support all courses but I won’t be supporting this one anytime soon again
Easily the nicest course I've played this year. Their fairways are better then some other courses greens.
Excellent Condition
Staff has keep the greens and fairways in excellent shape during this extended dry heat wave. Excellent driving range and putting green.

Wind from the west today as usual. Made for a nice breeze in the 38c humidity. Walked as no carts (wouldn't pay $53 for a cart anyways for 2 people)
Greens fast and in GREAT shape. Rest of the course good considering the lack of rain.
Always worth the drive
