Alright course
Brutal course if you can't keep it straight. If you're barely off the fairway or green you'll have a hard time finding your ball bc the rough is so deep. Would of been nice to know they charged a rider fee of $20. I booked a round with the cart included and they still charged $20 extra just for my wife to ride with me. I was the only one player and wasn't even part of a group. The seat would have been empty otherwise. Fees like this are just a money grab imo. Plenty of other places I'll play that don't do this is where my business will be
Restroom on the course is out of order.
Bunkers are not maintained.
Pace of play is incredibly slow due to players spending so much time looking for lost balls in the unbelievably overgrown rough.
Greens are in great shape.
Fairways need water.
For the price not the best value.
Aggie golf
Open, felt like a links course! Greens where grade A!
Golf carts the best in town.
Terrible course conditions
The shape of the greens and course is shameful. A&M has a turf management program, but apparently they don’t apply any of it to the golf course. The local muni course is in better shape. The greens rolled fast, but I think it was more due to the turf conditions. Won’t play again especially for what they charge.
Grass
After the rains and then the heat keeping the ball in the fairway is a must. Pace of play is slowed by players looking for balls. Any stroll off the fairway will put several balls in your pocket. None will be your, but..... The bunkers have water damage and only a thin layer of sand. The greens are like felt. Fast and true. For best results hit fairways and greens in regular.
Campus Course
The fairways and greens are in excellent shape!
The bunkers are neglected and are in very poor shape. Unraked, unkept and just a mess.
If you miss the fairway you are heavily penalized with grass so tall, you can't find your ball which makes pace of play miserably slow for everyone.
The bathrooms in the clubhouse and on course are filthy.
The number of water stops on the course has been reduced and cart service is sporadic and inconsistent.
For $60 per round there is a lot of deficiencies, but options are limited in the area and again, the fairways and greens are in great shape.
Come on A&M!! Do better!
Great value!
Clubhouse isn’t luxury level, but the course is well maintained on fairways and greens. The golf carts are amazing! GPS and course details with yardages. There is a good mix of “native areas” that will disable your cart and you have to reverse out. The staff is so darn friendly. The carts are also premium. Like brand new, fast and very good seats.
Grass
This can be an excellent course. Recently the grass has been out of control. Tee boxes and around greens need attention. The hay needs to be raked and baled. Hopefully the course will return to the pristine shape it should be in.
Good layout
Course was okay. Rough was ridiculously deep in many areas (if you hit it in the rough, 50% chance of finding it). This slowed down play quite a bit
Great course, control your hook!
Played this course for the second time, 10:30a tee time on Friday morning. School is out for the summer so it wasn't crowded. Cart path only due to recent rains, driving range was closed as well. They have really nice golf carts here, but you can't take them to the partking lot to load up (GPS controlled). Course is open but challenging, the rough was very much like Oakmonth thanks to recent rains... 5-6" or taller. Felt like we were playing our own little US Open. Greens are in great condition and play fast. Fairways are nice. It's Texas A&M, everyone around is friendly and courteous.
