Mill Run Golf Club - Championship Wheel/Grind Course
About
Nestled among the rolling hills surrounding Uxbridge, which is just 40 minutes from downtown Toronto, Mill Run Golf Club offers 27 holes of championship golf and also an 18-hole, executive course. The championship holes are divided into three distinct nines that are played in three different 18-hole combinations. The Wheel/Grind Course is heavily forested with many elevation changes throughout. The back nine, the Grind, is Mill Run Golf Club's newest layout and it is also the shortest of the three. Although it is shorter in length, towering trees and doglegs incorporated into its layout demand accurate shot-making in order to do well.

Wheel 7 Photo submitted by PeteSladen11 on 10/30/2016
Impressed with condition of fairways and greens.
Played Wheel & Grind. Very good condition and challenging. Made u course manage ur clubs. Will b back for sure. Wheel chewed me up. :((
No Marshall to monitor pace of play
My only complaint was the pace of play. Our front 9 took just under 3 hrs to complete, and thankfully they have 3 9's so we played a different 9 than we were supposed to and flew threw it.
There also was no marshall on the course which doesnt make sense especially for a busy day like Saturday.
Good condition...But where was the Marshall????
The course is in good condition, nice greens and fairways. Play the course in more than 5hrs.
We were following 3 peoples with 2 bags?? Imagine the wait!!! The second nine we sneak in another 9 holes ( golf course has 3 nine holes ) but we were following a group of 5!!!
Never seen that before and I have been playing golf for a long time!!!!
No wonder why we played in more than 5 hours!!! where was the Marshall??...
Second round of the season
The course is in good shape and the staff are friendly. Nice power cart. The weather was on the cool side but did not spoil our game. Good driving range for warm up
Mill run
Course was in fantastic shape greens were fast & true fairways lush we really enjoyed it!
One of the best greens ...true greens! you'll be tested!!
A very nice course layout, fairways are pristine!
But the greens....my oh my...the greens are immaculate! True rolls of the ball, very fast and hard. If you find the line, its going in...but be real careful of the speed of the ball.
Fabulous!
Great staff! Thanks, folks! The course has fabulous scenery,. It'swell kept, & Ii'd play there any day! There is enough variety of undulations, water, open space, curves, etc to keep things interesting. Their broccoli cream soup, by the way, was just super!
wheel is best
would like the opportunity to decide which 2 nine's to play vs being told
value for money.
As you know, golfing in Canada needs to be on the basis of value for money. As golf season is now closely ending, you always shop around for greens fees with the best value for money and the golf course. Mill Run surely has it.
Very nice but not super
Loved the Grind (9-holes) which is carved out of the woods and presents some very challenging holes. Take a cart because holes are often a long way from one another. The Grist (9 holes) was an uneventful parkland type of setting with minimum variety. Ladies league in front of us was slow and we never saw a marshal.
The course was in good shape for this time of year.
The course was in good shape for this time of year but a few of the greens could have a little more maintenance performed on them. Good value for the price paid on golfnow.
Classic Ontario course
There are some incredibly beautiful holes and views here. Some of the best when it comes to public value courses in this area. However, plenty of blind shots and contorted holes and elevated greens, so plenty of challenge and almost not recommended for beginner golfers.
This course has great features
Good course and fun to play. The only problem is the GPS doesn't work.
Course well maintained and quite challenging.
Course is well maintained. We played Grist and Wheel. Wheel is definitely more difficult. Yet it is forgiving to wayward tee shots.
Good value for money.
Enjoyed..picturesque - fairways great- greens need repair (ball marks)
Had a good time.. Nice course..well maintained though greens are a little rough with people failing to repair divots
A Challenging course
The course was in great condition. The GPS on the golf carts were not always accurate and sometimes did not keep up with the holes we were on. The Greens were very quick making putting a real challenge. Overall a very enjoyable round of golf.
Very fun and diverse course. Great for golfers of all skill levels.
Everything was pretty good. We had some slow players in front of us for the majority of the round. The Marshall did what he could to speed them along so you can't really fault the course.
Everything was in really good shape. We played the Grist on the front and it was pretty easy, the wheel on the back nine was much more challenging. It made it a really fun round.
Challenging course that demands shot placement accuracy.
Challenging course that demands good shot placement to reach
many of the greens. Fair condition, greens could be a bit softer. Difficult to hold shots on many greens with approach shot.Putting on greens are nice and quick with a true read. Overall, a nice experience on a mature scenic course.
the reason you do not get to decide is because of the fact that there are 3 separate 9`s for people to play... And there are also 3 combinations of 9`s in which you would play: 1. Grist&Wheel
2. Wheel&Grind
3. Grind&Grist
If you are unhappy with the fact you can't choose, you should try playing a course with only 18 holes. In that case, you would get to choose every time ! It depends on what time you come to the golf course and what day of the week you are attending.
It is really simple to ask someone when you make your tee time.
For instance, If Group A teed off at 9:00 AM on Grist, and you came in at 10:30 and asked to tee off on Wheel, we wouldn`t be able to let you tee off considering the fact that Group A would be crossing over to play Wheel at roughly 11 AM. This helps minimize any interferences with other golfers. AKA slow play and waiting on the tee block. If you have any further questions to why people do things, feel free to ask.
Hope this helped. Thanks
