Hidden Gem
Great track. Good conditions. Fun layout. They’ve clearly made improvements. With some slight tweaks moving forward this place could be even better. Highly recommended.
Course as of 5/8/25
I enjoy this course because it is very tight and you really need to think about where you want to place the ball. If you can get a Hot Deal, this course is a pretty good value.
They had put down quite a bit of top dressing onto the greens within the past few days, but it didn't seem to be a major problem to play. Due to the significant rains, the par 5 on the back was turned into a par 3. Even before that, this particular fairway was still in really rough shape however. This is the 3rd time I've played here this year, and first time eating here. The cheeseburger at the clubhouse was really good, but the people working were very busy and were not super friendly because of the rush (both on the phone to order ahead, and during pickup).
Still a good test for all levels
SugarTree has been around for a good while and it has not changed much in quality. It is still a really good layout with multiple tee choices and variety of hole design. The greens are fast so be careful with speed. There are some bare areas but Texas remains in severe drought so it’s tough to get grass in some spots.
Superb
All in all I’d recommend. Best fairways in the area. Hit the fairway and well rewarded with opportunity.
High expectations and even higher experience
Really excellent in every regard. Greens were perfect particularly relative to the early spring. Some fairways need more green up time but the course layout and architectural splendor overcame those. Considering some Kate added tee times from the local college still finished in normal 4 hours playing by timeline. And I played very well to boot. Really great experience all around.
Greens are in beautiful condition
Great course, greens were in great condition!
Best I’ve seen them.
Great course
It a tough course but it’s in good shape for this time of year.
Lots of character
This course is really challenging but in the way you want a course to be. Lots of character and history especially on the 10th and 18th holes. The views of the Brazos River are also worth the drive. Definitely will be back in the spring to see everything green and manicured in peak season.
Upgrades
The course is really in great shape there has been a lot of work done on areas around the course all the clearing of the brush between fairways. This has really open up the place making it seem more like playing the courses you see on TV. You are playing a course/ hat somebody takes real pride in in turn makes you feel in taking more pride in you playing there. That said it is a must play
Great Course!
Great course with friendly staff. Pace of play was good despite the number of people playing. Definitely will be back.
