Good value for course
Overall good value. The last time I played here our carts battery was dying and we barely made it back to the clubhouse. Pleasantly surprised to see what look like brand new carts for this season. Course was in pretty good shape considering spring is just starting. Starters do a good job of ensuring tee times go out as scheduled which helps maintain the pace of play. Overall a great experience and would recommend.
Windy day for golf
Other than the windy conditions which made it difficult to play and brought temp down to chilly and the fact that one of the holes has a green that was shorter and was replaced in the fairway, it was not a bad day to play golf at Twin Lakes -Lakes Course. Could have played better pace without the Cart Only.
Nice day for ⛳️
The course was in good shape, greens were very slow. Not surprising at this time of year. My first round of the year, due to injury, and great weather. No complaints other than hole #4 being shortened, with temp green. It's done every year, so it .must be a maintenance issue.
Home course, winter play
I love the Lakes course at Twin Lakes! For winter, and being wet from rain, the course was in great shape! The greens were a little furry and super slow, but it’s winter so I wasn’t expecting the typical shape they are in (which I think is great). Everything else was tip top! Played from the tips and other than a rough putting day, had an awesome round. I will be back before winter is over, and then many more times over the summer!
Wonderful time with others
It was a perfect weather and I enjoyed wonderful time with other players.
Quick Front 9
Played on 9/24 and tee time was 4:55pm. The late afternoon tee times will get you around the front 9. The carts need to be in at 7pm and I was told that play is over around 7:15pm. Otherwise the course is in good condition and the staff was excellent. Paid $34.00 for 9 was not bad.
Beautiful Course
This was my first round at the Lakes course. Staff was very friendly and the starter was great. He got me paired up with another single and actually got us out ahead of my tee time. Course conditions were in great shape although the rough could be cut down a little more to improve pace of play by reducing time players have to search for balls barely off the fairway. Greens roll true, but more people need to repair their pitch marks. If you’ve never played here before, you may want to get a rundown of the course layout before you start. It’s confusing to find hole #2, as you have to cut across two other tee boxes to get there. Luckily, I was paired with a course local who was amazing in showing me the lines throughout the day. I’ll definitely play this track again.
Maintenance missing
I know about the aeration of the greens and fairways, this is not a complaint about that. It was the rough and simple “just off the green” condition. It was the worst I have ever seen…ever. Played here for 25 years when it was only 18 holes, and it was never this bad. The rough just off the fairways were 3.5 - 5 inches and some near the greens where 6 inches in places (I measured) …as if they had NEVER been cut all year. If this is from a lack of crew I get it…you have to stay on top of the main course first, but if this is from a lack of proper duty of task assignments…I hope this gets to the HGK soon.
