Ocean Resorts Golf Club
About
Located just six miles west of Ocean City, Md., Ocean Resorts Golf Club is a good option if you're looking for a round that is fun to play but still a good value. The course is known for being player friendly enough for any skill level but there are still several challenges in store with multiple sets of tees that range from 4,800 to 6,500 yards. Water hazards come into play on a few holes and there are also several strategically placed bunkers you'll have to contend with. The layout rewards proper club selection and good strategy but it's not overly punishing for high handicappers. A unique aspect of Ocean Resorts is that it's owned by the Wor-Wic Community College.

Nice Course with a couple trouble spots.
First off, the staff has done a great job trying to get the course in a "higher" quality condition. Pace of play was great even though the course was very busy. The few trouble spots I mentioned come from two areas. One, the greens are night and day between the front and back. You can attack the greens on the front and they'll hold (were quite soft), but on the back, the majority were very hard and even had one approach to the front edge on 15 that bounced and ran off the back. The other which is not their fault and pertains to the back 9 is all the rain the course got. It flooded a few fairways and are void of grass in a few places, turning them rock hard. Ocean Resorts has a quality course and it's just a matter of time that the fairways return to better condition on the back. All said, don't let it deter you, the course has numerous fun twists and turns and is worth your time. The 10th hole has several ditches and water hazards the require your attention. You'll use all your clubs on this course and look forward to returning on another date.
Solid course, good value with discount.
The course was in fairly good shape with a few place in the fairways and greens that were worn out, but overall good condition. Played from the blues which made driving all the more important due to narrow fairways. The rough was thick and very patchy in place. Enjoyed the course and glad I was able to play at a discount. Having 4 kids I take every discount for golf I can get.
Great value
Great value for the money. Course was in average+ condition ( has been aerated recently). Course required more accuracy then length. Pace of play was great, finished in about 3:45. Play if you're in the area!
Easy Course for low money
Choose this course if cost is your primary concern. Decent value at $20 for 18. Sorry, not worth full price. Close to OC. Nice range for warmup. No liquor sales, just beer.
Very enjoyable and best bargain among local courses.
My first impression always begins with the greeting I receive as a new guest in the pro shop. This one was warm, friendly and very helpful. They allowed me to walk and discounted the reservation quotation accordingly which many courses do not. I am a high handicapper and my scores from two rounds indicate to me that it is indeed a moderately difficult course. It's a beautiful natural layout and I enjoyed it so much that I returned the next two days to practice at their grass tee driving range and then to play my second round. It was a very good value for the price paid.
Nice and challenging golf course!
Golf course was well maintained and the greens were in good shape as well as the bunkers. Overall I had a great game of golf on a nice course
A treasure. A great find.
In town for a conference. The preceding night I played a links course that looked like the Preakness ran thru the greens. The condition of this course was excellent in comparison! I was at the course at 630 AM. and started walking the back nine- no one was there to check me in. The head greens keeper greeted me at 13. Pleasant conversation, no worries about walking on..."just pay when you finish 18"....
The back nine is a typical shore course built into the pines. You must think at every tee box. Its not a grab the driver and rip it. Shot selection is key. If you dont mind hitting irons, working on moving the ball left and right, try this course. You will enjoy it!
Enjoyable Round
This is a pleasant course to play, had some challenging holes every now and then, but overall I had a relaxing round.
This is a must play course!! A great value!!
This is a course that I will play again and again whenever I visit the Eastern Shore of Maryland. It was a great course. Well maintained with very easy holes and very challenging holes as well. It is suited for all handicaps. Again, a definite must play.
Improvement Noted
Visited this course 5years ago . Never played it . Looked like a dog track from the parking lot. Returned on a whim oct 2012 . Course has been taken over by local community college. Can see considerable improvment. Greens full smooth but a little slow, fairways front nine comming in well. back nine very wet, tee boxes and fairways thru the woods (shady areas) need attention. All traps should be edged and topped with some white fluffy sand this would make visually more appealing. Has some intresting holes. Would play again more often if improvements continue!!
Flat coastal course with few unique features
This coastal course is straight forward and easy to play. A driver is not needed on many holes with thoughtful iron shot positioning off the tee providing the best results.
I played shortly after a big thunder storm the previous day and the course was very wet. However the management needs to be given considerable credit for having many staff on the course pumping out flooded traps and getting the course in shape.
