SaddleBrooke Ranch Golf Club
About
Located in the North Tucson area, SaddleBrook Ranch Golf Club borders the Santa Catalina Mountains. The course meanders through the high Sonoran desert, incorporating natural washes into the design and providing stunning mountain views from almost every hole. Abundant desert flora and fauna further enhance the rugged, gently rolling terrain. The golf course offers a mix of challenging holes and player-friendly features, resulting in a layout with several interesting risk-reward opportunities that will appeal to low and high handicappers equally. The player-friendly fairways are generous, allowing beginners to feel comfortable with ample room off the tees and rewarding thoughtful play. There are also carefully placed mounds, hollows, and bunkers along the large, receptive greens that provide opportunities to recover an errant shot. The golf course is made even more versatile with five different sets of tees.

Tough for a single player.
Management at all Saddlebrooke courses don't like singles playing alone. They'll pair them up even if the course is wide open. Riding with a stranger is still problematic.
Really good
It’s been a few months since I’ve played this course. It was in amazing shape. Fairways are green and the greens are in great shape and run true. Hats off to the staff!
Head Pro
I think the Head Pro doesn't like people or golf!
What a shame he is to the profession of golf. New management would help dramatically. The day I went to golf, the pro was not around. The review of the Pro was from a few weeks ago.
JD
Man, what a surprise! Undoubtedly one of the best conditions ever. The guy in the pro shop was “borderline” but that could have been cause it was the 4th but wow! At this time it’s probably one of the finest course conditions you could ever want. I have recommended it to numerous people even though I work for one of oro valley’s finest courses. Other than the pro shop experience, I give SBR the absolute thumbs up!
Good people, good place to golf and just a nice place.
Fun round
Played 18 holes in under four hours! Greens are in great shape but the fringe around the greens need lots of work. Fairways were recently mowed close and sanded so that took the life out of the ball with very little roll.
Fantastic New Greens!
I wrote a review a year ago as they were in the process of tearing out all the greens and playing to temporary pins. I suggested that folks would be well-advised to put off playing the Ranch until the new greens were in and took hold. I'm happy to report that the new greens are excellent. They are still quite firm so don't yet hold approach shots very well, but that will come. The quality of the turf makes for great putting conditions. Start your putt on the proper line and it tracks beautifully. The greens putt fairly quickly, which is fine for my game, though some folks might be a little intimidated by that. The course management also appears to have put some decent money in upgrading their fairways and bunkers as well. While I would typically rate the Ranch as a slightly better than average course (the fairways are generally wide open, rather than presenting more challenging target golf), the upgrades in the quality of the turf playing conditions now rates this course, at least in its current condition, as one of the best conditioned courses in the entire Tucson area. Kudos to the folks who paid the bills and to the greenskeeper for doing an excellent job!
The Ranch at Saddlebrook
This coarse is in good/great shape considering the time of year (seeding sanding etc) lots of grass in the fairways and the greens are close to being perfect. Even with an early tee time we managed to play in 3 1/2 hours.
Cups Not set properly
Almost every hole had a "Doughnut" around the cup. The cups are not set properly so when your ball is about 4 or 5 inches from the cup, with just enough speed to drop in, most of the time, the ball moves to the left or right or slows down.
Your grounds crew are not using cup setters to set the cups.
The greens were in very good condition, except for the cup setting.
never again
I booked a tee time saturday for 4 through golf now. Our 4th player had car issues and missed the tee time. I checked in 45 minutes before tee time and informed pro shop of this. Monday my account was hit for the grrens fees for the 4th player who didn,t make it. Golf now said it was up to the golf course to charge me or not for the 4th fee. I contacted Saddlebrooke Ranch golf and they weren't willing to work with me on the fee. I have had this happen before and never been charged for unused greens fees. They just said too bad for me. Me and my friends have spent a lot of money there over the past few years.I will never book through golf now or play Saddlebrooke Ranch again. That means the 5-6 friends i golf with wont play there either. Too bad for Saddlebrooke Ranch for not working with people, now they have lost many customers forever.
Good Course
Everything was good. It was unfortunate the course was cart path only because of the previous evening rain, but it was the correct decision to make to keep the course from being damaged by golf carts.
Nice Course conditions but come prepared
Course conditions were very good.
Fairways in very good condition.
Greens were in excellent shape.
Course layout is playable yet challenging.
Hole layouts 10, 11, and 12 leave a lot to be desired.
Only one bathroom facility on the course.
There was no water on the course, no cooler on the carts, and no ball washers. So come prepared.
