Always an excellent course

Got out as a twosome just ahead of a tournament. We flew around and finished in 3:15 so pace was no problem here.

I've played here many times over the years, and it's just a great course all around (Legacy/Heritage) . VERY challenging for an average player as there is not a flat spot anywhere on the course. But that also makes the course beautiful. You will have a little of everything here - elevation changes, water to hit over, long par-3's, and nice facilities. Even saw coyote pups this round.

Love that the snack shack is back open on the practice range - makes it easy to grab a snack at the turn.

NOTE: There is another 9 hole course here (Tradition) that we did not play today.

Poor pace of play/crowded

The pace of play at this course is horrendous. The starter sends people off whenever, which led to a bunch of twosomes who should have been paired up. I didn’t end up playing with the people who booked my same tee time. They also somehow added two groups in front of us at the turn, which further slowed things down.

There are 27 holes here, and you are not necessarily going to play the 18 you book. They had us play Tradition instead of Heritage, which was on my reservation. Tradition is a really crowded, tight 9. More of an executive course. Because of the added groups, tight holes, and a bunch of holes where people try to drive the green/reach par 5s in two, it was slow going.

Otherwise, the course is in decent shape. Some greens a little rough, but fairways and rough nice and green.

Awesome Course

We had a great time playing this course. Easily one of my new favorites in the Atlanta area. Only thing stopping it from being five stars is that for the price they need to fix some of the greens and tee boxes. Excited to go and play again.

Great Place to Play

Had a blast early on a damp Friday morning. Friendly pro shop upon check-in and starter at the first tee. Great looking clubhouse and restaurant (even though I didn’t have time to stay for lunch). Pace of play was fast until we hit the back nine when we caught a couple groups they had started on that side, but still finished in ~3.5 hours. Very challenging test for this mid-handicapper, with undulating fairways, lots of bunkers, and some forced water crossings. I will definitely be back when I’m in Atlanta again.

Fun Course to Play

Great experience for $50 on a holiday. Fun and challenging layout. Only downfall were some of the greens. Most were in good shape except for huge pitch marks, only 2-3 holes the actual condition of the green was bad. Good pace, very friendly staff. Will be back.

Greens and Traps in Poor Shape

The course has a solid layout. Lots of undulating greens. With that the greens were in poor shape. Looks like many golfers playing here opts not to repair ball marks. The effects were apparent in our round. The traps are not being maintained. Barely any sand in most. Those with sand had only a thin layer. More often, you're playing out of clay. Too bad. The course has potential.

Quit mid round

Pace of play was absolutely horrible especially when you have a group in front of you hitting 4-5 balls each off the tee box into the woods The marshals just rode around playing on their phone and not enforcing pace of play. The greens were in terrible condition. I will never play here again what a waste of money.

Staff insisted that just because I booked on Golfnow didn't mean it was paid in full and insisted that I provided confirmation number even though they had my name and tee-off time. They were not customer service oriented and need training on approaching customers in proper fashion

If you like a difficult layout...

Heritage was built to be a championship caliber course. That has not changed.

It is a very challenging layout...even the best placed shots can leave you with a very awkward lie as the entire course is very undulating. A missed green can leave you in an impossible situation. The greens are crazy as well.

Some heat stress on the bentgrass greens in August which is expected.

Pace of play about 5 hours on a Friday afternoon.

Very nice layout and practice facilities

Pace of play was fair. We were behind a slow foursome.

The greens were extremely slow. They were healed from aeration but s few bare spots. People don’t repair ball marks. The speed was probably 6 of 7 on a stimp meter.

Tee boxes were newly sodded and haven’t matured yet.

I will try this course again I. A few weeks to see if it, matured.
