Decent but slow

Booked a 3:30 tee time by myself, knowing that I would be able to finish 18 holes before sundown. I started on Tradition only to find out that the first 3 holes were reserved for a group of kids. This made it so all of the groups were packed into 6 holes rather than 9. Even though I was by myself, I couldn’t play through much because everyone was waiting on a group up ahead. After finishing 6, I played 9 on Legacy and had the same issue. I finished after the sun went down at 6:30. They very clearly overbook the course, which you can tell as soon as you pull in the parking lot.

Prepare yourself for a Circus!

If this is your first time playing Heritage, you might want to prepare yourself for chaos. I’ve been playing Heritage for years because of its location in metro Atl and convenience to my house, but I will say in the last year or two I’ve been driving 30-40 minutes to play just to get away from the expected s-show at heritage. Basically this all stems from overbooking and lack of effort with organization. Pretty much everyone just shows up, grabs a cart and heads to the tee regardless of their time- which obviously creates a massive pile up on #1, then groups just start jumping on #10 cutting in front of people making the turn. There is another 9 across the road which I’m fine with it being fair game to singles and whoever wants to move quicker, and this is typically where I wind up playing due to the regular 18 being a disaster. All they need to do is call the groups to the tee when their tee time is next up, pretty simple. I would never pay $70 to play here, you can drive a little bit and play a much better course in peace and relax

Pace of play

If pace of play is a consideration when choosing a course, your money is better spent elsewhere. 2 or 3 groups waiting on every tee is the standard. Staff is apathetic to complaints.

Worst Starter

When I got there, tee pushed back due to frost. I waited for 2 hrs and waiting for my tee time. My original tee time was 8:10am, third group on the list. But there was an asian group of 9:40am original tee time. They just come off from the car and one of them gave a burger to an old man starter and asked him to let them go first. He actually let them go before all of us waited 2 hrs. And he was very rude and impolite and bad temper. He is a worst starter I've ever experienced in my 30 yrs of golf rounds. I will bring a burger next time so that I don't have to wait. Luckily I was grouped with good players. Thanks for that.

Weekend are slow

They tee people off every 5 minutes. We had three groups piled up waiting at a tee box for the first 6 holes. Took 5 hours to play 14 holes. I’d avoid Heritage on the weekends

Terrible

Tee time was delayed due to frost. No accommodations or notice was given. Waited 3 hours for the course to open and then was placed in the back of the line to golfers who’s tee times were later on. It took 4:40 minutes to finish, and the staffers were rude and unapologetic about the situation. I could not recommend this course to anyone. Worst experience yet.
